Detailed Reviews
This lodge is about a 20 minute walk to the Burswood casino so on the Saturday night we stayed there you could hear police and ambulance sirens continually.
Also other people staying there were very loud and continually banging doors and very noisy Sunday morning from 6.30am onwards, disappointing. The apartment was adequate with all kitchen facilities that you need and bed was very comfortable. Actually after a week travelling in Perth and Margaret River area this was the most comfortable bed we'd slept in! Won't stay there again due to the noise.

Thank you for your review. As part of the Great Eastern Highway upgrade, there has been a three metre high noise wall built adjacent to the motel, so this has blocked out nearly all of the traffic noise. I am sorry that you had noisy neighbours on the night you stayed. Clearly these neighbours were inconsiderate or other guests which is frustrating. I am sure though that you would accept that this could occur at just about any hotel or motel whether three star of five star. I am pleased that you found the bed comfortable. When one of our beds becomes too old, I have them replaced with at least a 4 star commercial Slumbercare bed.

When I booked Burswood Lodge, I was looking for a motel with a family room that was fairly close to Perth Airport and not in Perth CBD. We were going to fly into Perth after a 6 hour flight and then rent a car, so the last thing I wanted was to struggle with directions in Perth CBD.
So, from that point of view, Burswood Lodge lived up to our needs. It was easy to locate and it was a mere 10-15min drive from Perth Airport. But check-in was a bit disappointing. The reception only opens for a couple of hours. We arrived at 4.30pm on a Saturday and it was closed. They left a sign at the door of reception, saying to call a number for access to our rooms. Sounds simple enough, but imagine if you had come straight from the airport (from overseas) and did not have a local mobile phone number, it could be a bit tricky. Not something you would want to have to do after a long flight, the hassle of going through immigration, the hassle of renting a car etc etc.
Anyway, after calling the phone number, the person on the other end instructed us to get out room keys which had been left in a safe just outside the reception door, They gave us the code to open the safe. So that was simple enough.
The family room was spacious. There was a queen sized bed in the living area, and 3 single beds in the bedroom. The room and bathroom were clean. The kitchen was fairly well equipped with a microwave, fridge, cooker, kettle, toaster and cutlery. I liked the kitchen/dining/living area which was quite homely. There was also a wash/laundry area in the large bathroom which made it convenient to do a bit of washing.
The downside was that there was no free wi-fi which most hotels/motels would normally provide. Instead there was a pay-as-you-go wi-fi facility.
There were shops nearby - an IGA for grocery shopping, a Red Rooster restaurant and some other shops. There was also a good halal kebab shop about 500m down Kooyong road.
A drive to the CBD took only 10 minutes across Swan river.
Reasonably priced for what you get.
Caution** Many of the guests staying here come straight from the airport (like us). So expect to be awoken at 2am when people check in at this time as they flew in on the late flight.
Overall, I am happy with my choice to stay in Burswood Lodge. I would have rated it 4 stars if it had free wi-fi and if reception was open when we arrived. The least they could have done was to warn us beforehand that their reception opening hours were brief.

I made my booking here a month and a half in advance, on the day before we were due to arrive I called to confirm that our room was on ground level as I can not walk up stairs due to my back (which when I booked the room I stated this fact)
The gentleman that answered the phone said that he could not see my booking at all! You can imagine how freaked out I was, he did say that he remembered me making it but due to the new computer system installed in September some how it got lost...
He did do his best to find a room for us but unfortunately the room only had two queen size beds and we needed a room for Me, my partner and 3 sons.
I do have to say that Richard along with Cam were very apologetic and they did feel awful for what happened. Richard was very professional, very helpful and turned a unfortunate situation into a happy one!
I recommend anyone to stay at the Burswood Lodge if they want a private, very clean and comfortable place to stay.

Thank you for the nice comments in your review. I am are happy that we resolved the situation for you. We do aim to provide friendly and personal customer service to our guests. I think that because we are a family owned motel, we do provide that extra touch with our customer service, not like the cold, rude reception you get at some places.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
If I could give it 0 stars I would. We had to stay here because of the Wooroloo fires we needed to evacuate, honestly would have been better to sleep outside on the ground. Absolutely DISGUSTING the worst place to stay ever. Surprised we never got bad infections and ended up in hospital. The rooms smelt like someone had literally died, there was blood stains on the curtains, hairs all over the beds, the blanket that was on our bed smelt like piss. The bedroom with three beds had boogies all over the walls, the bathrooms were covered in spider webs, pubic hairs, black mold. Every single thing in the rooms were disgusting and filthy. Lots of shady characters around too, I watched a man walk up the stairs holding a handful of ladies underwear. Some guy on drugs jumped down the stairs and frightened me. It was horrible, reporting this place to the department of health as it's unacceptable.

Stayed here with friends as we are going to see Queen at the Optus stadium. On arrival I thought it looked a little sad and neglected but the rooms were clean, beds comfortable and great value for money. I would definitely stay here again for a concert at Optus !

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. The noise from the drunken guests was terrible and frightening. The managers should have called the police and evicted them. But no nothing. The property itself was in need of a makeover but clean. Won't be back

Our room smelt of intense chemicals, whether it be bleach or some other chemical. We asked about moving but the other available room smelt the same. The bed was uncomfortable, there was no hair dryer and on request there was still no hairdryer. The bathroom mirror was only available to tall persons. The airconditioner didn't work and there was some intermittent noise that disturbed our sleep. Parking was dismal. Rooms were old and tacky.

Thank you for your review! Since your stay, there has been a three metre noise wall built adjacent to the motel as part of the Great Eastern Highway upgrade. This has eliminated most of the traffic noise from the highway. I agree with your comment that the motel is in a great location! Just 5.5km from the domestic airport which takes 10-15 minutes by car. It's 5km from the CBD which is 10 minutes by car or a simple bus ride. One kilometere from the Crown Perth which is two minutes by car or a 15-20 minute walk.

you need to ask the hotel this question
Hi, it is around $20-22 to the domestic airport and $30-35 to the international airport.
