The room at Aloft was quite good. The decor is tasteful in the rooms. The service at the front counter is lacking in being able to explain things, like how to get to the hotel from the parking area. The service in the Spring restaurant was not good. We ordered breakfast. Took 45 minutes to get the food after prompting them. Then the breakfast order was wrong. My husband did not get his bacon with his eggs and mine was wrong eggs, no bacon and no hash browns. They bought out some bacon for my husband and bought me poached eggs which were cold and bacon. Still no hash browns. Eventually the hash browns turned up. The bacon was so greasy it was inedible and as I mentioned my eggs were cold. I believe our order got lost and the served us food that was left in the buffet. Would not recommend eating here at all. I believe this was the worst breakfast I have eve4 been served.

Had a great stay here for 2 nights. I was given a corner room which was large and very comfortable. Wifi was free & fast. Large HD flat screen tv with Foxtel channels. Had a great nights sleep. Rooms are very quiet. Large bathroom with a walk in rain shower. Good food options available on site. Bar was pretty busy so I didn't go in. Fantastic staff. Good location about halfway between the airport & city. Would happily stay here again.

I was so happy with my one night stay to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. All the staff were so wonderful and helpful. Management was pleased to give us an early check in and when we arrived they gave myself and my husband the Bridal suite. A bottle of Chardonnay pinet noir was in the fridge for us, complimentary drink vouchers and a wonderful surprise with our room service. The Char grilled octopus, steak and rustic fries were delicious. Buffet breakfast was yummy, especially the homemade beans and scrumptious hash browns. We had the suite which was absolutely lovely, beautiful view of Perth and river all around the room. TV was in lounge and bedroom and the bed was so comfortable. I am looking forward to coming back and thank you so much to all the staff to make our anniversary so special. We are very grateful.

Stayed for 4 nights at the hotel. Definitely not expecting such standards by a Marriott operated hotel. The housekeeper team (or company as the manager in charge said that the housekeeping is outsourced) is way below expectations for a four star hotel in Australia. We have stayed in three star hotel, in less developed countries but never had we experienced a worse housekeeping. The housekeeper practically do whatever minimum he/she could; one of the cups which we left on the table together with our items was left unwashed; the cup is empty with a spoon so I don’t think the housekeeper left it there thinking we have something left to drink. And we left some clothes and kids’ napkins on the bed and he/she left them practically as they are, unfolded; first time in our hotel stay this happened. And then, we found another kid’s napkin folded together with the blankets. And, one of our kids’ soft toy was missing and after some digging, we found it on the floor, between the two beds. All of the above were in my opinion, substandard performance but did not warrant us making a hoo-ha out of it. Not until, on our third night, we went back to the hotel room; and I was walking behind with the room keys; my boy tried to open the door and it actually could be pushed open! We did not go back to the hotel anytime within the day so the only explanation the room door is not closed properly is either a burglar came into our room, some staff making some unauthorized access, or the housekeeper cleaned up the room but did not close it properly! We deemed that it should be the latter and I don’t think it is no small matter to make such a serious mistake, and thus we made an immediate call to the front desk to voice our unhappiness. This unhappiness was of course exacerbated by the bad housekeeping done the days prior. The manager on duty (didn’t manage to get his name unfortunately) was probably at the front desk at the moment of 17 November evening and to be honest, I think he did a good job to immediately came up to our room to apologize and told us that he will give feedback to the housekeeping team and asked how he could make our stay better. I think that was reassuring but we didn’t ask for anything as this was not the the point. And his action could probably warrant a 4/5 stars for this review. But, what happened next changed everything. On our fourth and last night at the hotel, we came back to the room which looked fine; the clothes were folded and placed on the couch but I had no idea why one piece of t-shirt was left unfolded. But was ok. And for the first time in 4 nights, we had bottled water in our rooms. Why I wonder? Makes me wonder if they decided to change a housekeeper for the day who decided to give us bottled water for the day or the initial housekeeper suddenly improved on his/her work and remembered to give us bottled water. But the main thing that happened was, after digging everywhere (pushing away all the beds and looking underneath the beds) one of our kids’ Jellycat bunny was nowhere to be found. Initial suspicion is the housekeeper again made the blunder and probably bundle up the soft toy with whatever which needs to be replaced and threw it away. I don’t think it is an unreasonable suspicion given how the napkin could be folded with the blanket. Made another call to the front desk to complain but it was late and we told them not to come to our room (assuming the manager to do the same). Have no idea if any follow up actions was done by the hotel following our complaint but our boy was very much upset that his favorite soft toy is missing and keep asking about it, taking so long to fall asleep. So the next morning (19 November) we went to the front desk again to explain the whole issue and wanting to seek a resolution of this blunder; I mean the hotel should at least compensate something for our loss? But the manager at the front desk, hearing the issue, showed a nonchalant attitude and only said they will check with the cleaning company (yes, so the hotel don’t have an internal housekeeping team but the way this was put across seemed to be telling us that the housekeeping is not done by the hotel so the blunder is the fault of the housekeeping company not the hotel). But anyway by then, half a day or longer has passed, is anyone expecting the toy to be found, which if it were, could have been informed and notified. And even if it was found, I can’t imagine the state and condition of the soft toy put together with stuff that were to be washed or disposed. And of course, after one hour, in which we had to depart from the hotel, nothing was found. The manager “very kindly” waive off our parking fee amounting to 60AUD. So yes the complimentary parking would, albeit barely cover, the cost of the soft toy, but to be honest, IMO he did as a by the way action. If we had not incur any charges for stay, in my opinion, it is not unreasonable to deduce that nothing would be done by the hotel/manager for this issue (given the nonchalant attitude shown initially). Given so much that has happened during our stay, the terrible housekeeping done, the unlocked room door which could have resulted in us losing our valuables, the lost item and the attitude of the manager, such a rating for Marriott hotel is warranted.

Response from Vineet Narayan, Guest Services / Front Office at Aloft Perth
Responded 21 Nov 2023
Hello yuanlik2023, Thank you for the time to give us such a detailed feedback about the housekeeping experience you encountered during your stay with us. We sincerely apologise for the multiple errors that our housekeeping team caused. Rest assured that our housekeeping leaders have been informed and training in the right areas will occur. Please also accept my apology for the apparent nonchalant attitude my manager took with you. This was unintentional as the matter was certainly passed on to the higher management regarding your feedback. We were awaiting the linen company to reply to our query regarding your son's stuffed toy. Thus far we have not had any luck. In Australia, we generally do not fold the clothes of our guests as we have receives complaints in the past from guests who prefer their belongings to be left undisturbed. However, from your feedback it seems that our housekeeping team has been inconsistent about the way they serviced your room. Yuanlian2023, thanks again for your feedback and once again, please accept my sincere apologies for the issues. We have let you down, however, we will certainly be fixing the areas we lack in and improve. Please feel free to contact me should you have any further feedback on my direct details mentioned below. Kind regards, Vineet Narayan Rooms Division Manager Aloft Perth email: vineet.narayan@alofthotels.com

Fab venue. We stayed here to attend a concert at the Stadium in Perth. Is actually within walking distance, but we Ubered for about $12. We visited at Christmas time and the decor was very cute. Nice clean, modern room and a stunning view. Would recommend.

We stayed one night, and found this the perfect hotel. We loved the modern and funky vibe. Reception staff were so professional and accommodating, our room was very clean, and the bed super comfy. There is a bar and multiple eateries on site in case you don't want to venture out. The coffee & meals exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely be back.

Stayed for 2 nights as solo business traveller, in a King Breezy room. Drive in and park at the front while you check in. You then receive your parking card for the carpark adjoined to the hotel. Parking and car access was a breeze, I loved it. Check in, and check out was fast and seamless. Modern room, very clean. Large TV with all local TV and some cable channels. Nice chase style lounge, some cushions would make it feel it a a bit more cosy. View to building being constructed next door, no noise at all. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice to have a door on the toilet within the bathroom if you were sharing. Choice of amenities before you check in via the Marriot app, otherwise you may just receive the basics. I really like this eco approach. Daily water bottles greatly appreciated, and a little fridge for your own supplies. Room service changed the towels and left a little note, which was lovely. I had dinner at Springs Kitchen the first evening and enjoyed a wonderful Barra main and a dessert. Second evening I had room service and had a delicious Salmon special with romesco sauce (I asked for it). The lady knew I had dined the previous night and had it with the Barra. Chef delivered! The staff were all fantastic, friendly and helpful. After checkout I had a great takeaway coffee from Springs. At times the staff were busy in the restaurant, and it is just how it is everywhere with staffing at the moment, so take a deep breath and be mindful. I left my garment bag in the room, called around lunch time after check out. Called me back very quickly, housekeeping found it and it was left at reception for me to collect. Fantastic service, thank you! Highly recommended.
