This used to be a nice family hotel, but either the owners or the philosophy have changed. The manager and reception staff are pretty unfriendly. The hotel itself is in pretty bad shape, with filthy carpets, and bad maintenance. Our rooms (we had 4 this time) all reeked of cigarette smoke, so much that one felt like sleeping in an ashtray. The shower-head was broken and spilled water all over the place, some shutoff valves in the bathroom dripped so much that the floor was constantly inundated, and there was lots of dirt on the floor. None of the rooms were cleaned during the day, and we even had to ask to get toilet paper. The lock of our room door was falling apart and we had to fix it when moving in - doesn´t make one feel particularly safe, especially taking the below into account. Worst, the hotel is being used as brothel, especially over the weekend, and on the Saturday night we stayed there was a constant stream of prostitutes and clients. Very ugly atmosphere. Breakfast was pretty bad - worst breakfast I have seen in Georgia in almost a decade.…
Had a spacious three bed room for a very decent price. Good bathroom. Employees very friendly. Parking in front of the house. Entrance is heavy of cigarettes smoke, but luckily room wasn't, though smoking was allowed.
We happened upon the Hotel Prestige on our arrival into Akhaltsikhe. Price was good and the location was great for street parking and nearby restaurants as well as walking distance to the amazing fortress area. Staff was friendly and the room was very clean. Breakfast was included in the price and it was something different every morning and it was all very tasty. The only negative is that Georgia is still a smokers paradise and you swim through a cloud of cigarette smoke every time you walk through the lobby. Other than that, our stay was so pleasant and there was so much to do in the surrounding area, we stayed several days longer than expected.
Friendly hotel, rooms in back with balconies are great, pleasant view, quiet. Comfortable. Breakfast only instant coffee, why Georgian hotels in mid-summer don't have fruit for breakfast when peaches and watermelons are almost being given away is inexplicable.
Nice people, accesible "central" location, hot water, comfortable bed, breakfast... and inexpensive! It offers anything you may need for a one night stand. I recommend this place as perfect if Achalciche is on your way while travelling Georgia. Hard to imagine staying there for a longer time though. :)
