Booked the deluxe room in the new section of the hotel. Beautiful room. Everything needed to make a comfortable stay. Welcomed with tea, cakes, fruit and wine and a chance to meet and talk with charming owner. Very pleased and recommend highly.
We stayed in the Light House Hotel when we were travelling through the area - in a nutshell we were blown away by this experience Once we got to the Hotel we got a nice upgrade to a larger room with a spectacular view on the castle! After that we were welcomed with some homemade cake and some vino and tea / coffee. When we said we’d leave on the 7am bus to Armenia they offered to serve us breakfast at 6am - which we managed to reject (I couldn’t make them get up early). What we did not manage was to turn down a doggy bag to take along - they prepared the most amazing sandwiches and they baked some things for us to take along!!! On top of this EVERYONE in this place is so lovely you want to hug them! On a side note - the rooms are newly renovated / clean and got everything you need…
I stayed at this guest house for 2 nights as I've always wanted to visit Vardzia, and my stay here turned out to be even more special than I expected. One of the hosts, Sveta, not only can speak English, but she was a very hospitable & kind Georgian. I arrived a bit early at the guest house, so when Sveta realized that my room was not yet ready, she offered me a piece of cake. Afterwards, another gentleman offered me red wine - all of these were for free! The same night I had dinner with them, they offered me another red wine for free so it could help me sleep! Sorry, but where else can a place offer you red wine? When I mentioned to Sveta that I wanted to go to Vardzia, she arranged a taxi for me for the whole day, and the driver also spoke English! The location was quite convenient, as it was only a walking distance from the drop off point of matrushkas from Tbilisi, and the Rabati Fortress is just in front of the guest house. The guest house itself was quite cozy & had a very warm vibe to it. I was a bit worried when I realized my room didn't have air conditioning as it was hot during the day, but turns out it's very cool at night time, that there was no need for air conditioning. Overall, I felt quite special in this guest house. This place is were I truly felt the hospitality of a Georgian, and I felt very laid back & cozy staying here.…
Great place to stay and delicious cafe. The hotel owner is a fabulous baker. Do not miss out. The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms are clean. Great views of the castle just across the street. 10/10 do recommend
We stayed one night and we really liked it. The rooms were great, clean and comfy. The location is fantastic ,right next to the castle. But most important ,the host was super nice and welcoming ,she speak good english which is not easy to find. To sum it all, if you plan on visiting this town , go to the light house ,you won't regret it.
