Leah is a lifesaver! After forgetting my snowboard boots in the room Leah did me a HUGE favor by personally delivering them to the mountain I'll be at on an upcoming trip. So nice of her. I highly recommend Tahoe Vistana Inn.
Stayed for 2 nights. Very clean, takes well behaved dogs. Front desk people are nice, but not very accomodating. Asked for late checkout in the middle of the week on Jan 2 when only 1/2 of the rooms were taken-was told only 1 hour extra because they were booked??? No cable tv, just local tv channels, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. House cleaning states every 3 days, but knocks on your door every morning at 9am! Then on day of check out when we were at breakfast at 8 am housekeeping came in while we had the do not disturb sign on and changed the towels! If you want privacy, go elsewhere. The hot tub, is just that, an old round plastic tub of hot water with bright lights blasting down...we passed.
Very basic lodging, thin camp style shower with little water pressure but at least the water was hot. There was no AC, but a fan was in the closet. If you opened the screens for air you could hear the traffic noise so it was hard to regulate the varying temperatures in the room. There was no clock in the room; the in room coffee was not great and their coffee in the tiny lobby, (which was only open after 9am) was nothing special. They did offer a small grocery store type muffin, but after 9am. Our room was on the back side and upstairs of the not fancy office. I think the photos of the place were very deceiving. The young women at the lobby desk were very pleasant and helpful. I only wish that whoever ran the vacuum cleaner would have waited until at least 8am. It was quite loud. They have SUPs and 2 kayaks to use but you have to cross a very busy highway to get to the water (no beach) access plus I don’t think any rooms had even a water view. Quite pricey for what you get.…
We spent one night prior to doing a college tour visit at Sierra Nevada College. We stayed in a room with a king size bed and a bunk bed in a smaller separate room connected to the main room. The room was very clean and spacious. The room was located in the middle of the hotel complex so we didn’t hear any street noise and had a great night sleep. Patio door was a little difficult to operate but it looks like they are in the process of changing them so this would no longer be an issue. Staff is very friendly. No breakfast but lots of places close by for full breakfast or just coffee and pastries.
We were in room 139, one of the deluxe rooms in the Squirrel House. A great view of the mountains and the lake! The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the heater quiet! Kitchen and bath were lovely! Two complaints, was the first night the person below us had his TV on all night, the TV's in this room and the one below are at an angle in a corner above a piece of furniture, this meant that in the room below the TV was almost at our floor. We did ask him to turn it down at night and he did, as long as we were quiet as well. As mentioned in other reviews, the walls are THIN! The other issue of this room is that you can smell cigarette smoke, probably left over from the smoking days, but it is still very musty smelling, I bought air freshener to help, but all our clothes had to be washed when we got home. We would definitely stay again, the staff was wonderful and very helpful, we were there for a wedding and had many guests stay there as well, all were happy.…
