We have been coming to Lake Tahoe and staying at Edgelake Beach Club for over 20 years; typically in the winter. In any case, we stayed in October and it was nice albeit getting somewhat old compared to the newer hotels/timeshare around. Nevertheless, it was nice, clean, two blocks from Safeway and close to many restaurants and beach areas (Edgelake has a nice pier). The staff was welcoming and accommodating with our needs. The afternoon social and other activities are nice. Always a welcoming place.

We stayed here for a week in a 2BR 2bath unit. Although the resort is older, it is well-maintained in general. It is right on the lake, with private beach and dock, swimming pool, BBQs, etc. Our first issue was on check-in. My husband has mobility issues so we are careful when booking sites to make sure there are ground floor units or elevators. Well, there were no ground floor units available and no elevators! To complicate things, the 2nd floor units are all 2 story: that is, main living areas are on the 2nd floor, bedrooms/baths on 3rd floor. This was not going to work for us! I will say, the office staff worked to try to accommodate us and found us a unit with a bedroom/bath on the 2nd floor and the extra BR/bath on 3rd. Additionally, they requested maintenance carry up our luggage, coolers etc. So we were able to meet my husband’s needs and still enjoy our stay. Next issue was climate control in the unit. There is no AC, which most of the year is not an issue due to the mountain climate. However, this week was unseasonably warm (temps near 90). Only some of the windows in the unit open, and one window crank was broken, so it was impossible to get a cross-breeze to keep temps comfortable. We finally begged for a fan from maintenance. With the fan and keeping the door open, we were able to keep it more comfortable. We were in unit 20 which is closest to the highway. Which meant with the windows open for ventilation, it was extremely noisy due to the traffic on the road. If possible, request a unit closer to the lake in hopes it would be quieter. Despite all this, we had a very good time here and would probably come back—if we could get a ground floor unit away from the road. The staff is generally very helpful and friendly and the location is terrific. There is a grocery store just 500’ away, lots of nearby restaurants, Kings Beach and Sand Harbor are close, and plenty of parks and trails for hiking and outdoor activities. The North Shore in general is so much quieter than South Lake Tahoe and the South Shore!

Located on the shore of Lake Tahoe. The people in the office are great. The units are older but are good size. The pool is a good size as is the hot tub. They have 4 BBQs. The kitchen has most of what you may need. EDGELAKE sits on the north side which in my opinion the best side with North star and Truckee just a short drive away.

We spent a wonderful week in a one bedroom unit in the Edgelake Beach Club. This was our first visit to this property. We were impressed with the view of the lake, cleanilness, fireplaces, spacious unit, and fine customer service. We especially want to thank Jason, Sandra, and Sam for their kindness.

I am writing this here primarily because I was stunned to see the 1 star review from someone else. I'm sure it's all a matter of taste and expectation. It is not perfect. It is not the Ritz Carlton. But, the smell of the pine trees, the lakefront location (which can hardly be beat, for the price), the pool, the hot tub, the view... what can I say? I have been blessed to spend about one week a year at Edgelake since I was around 12 years old (I'm now 51). My son, who is now 18, has spent a week every summer of his life here since he was 2 -- and he, too, considers it "like home." Maybe it's a good thing that not everyone feels the same. But. for those of us who set our alarms to begin calling at 9:00 a.m. every Saturday during the summer, just hoping we'll get through to book our week, one year in advance .... it is very much worth it. I love Edgelake. For those who don't, that's ok.... there are hundreds of other places to visit in the world. But for me, this is home.
