#1 of 7 hotels in Tahoe City
Travellers' Choice
In our 93rd year, Tamarack Lodge offers 21 rooms and cabins at surprisingly affordable prices. On nearly four acres of land one mile east of Tahoe City, we are at the edge of Burton Creek State Park, and are near everything you want to see in North Tahoe. There is also plenty to do right here on our own property. Families and groups love it here, and we are pet friendly too. Our "Poker Rooms" and cabins are genuinely "Old Tahoe". The cabins have full kitchen and are great for a weekend or a week. Our King and Double Queen rooms are spacious and comfortable. All rooms have microwave ovens and refrigerators; many have kitchens. Bring your boat! We have plenty of parking and boat launching is just 60 seconds away. Bring your bike and boots too. Mountain and road trails leave from here. We're 15 minutes from downhill skiing, or head out the back door with your nordic skis or snowshoes. We have been family owned since 1927, and are committed to treating you well.

Comfortable, clean, stylish furnishing. Everything you need to cook a nice meal and eat it on a beautiful table. The staff was friendly and supported us throughout our stay. The host gave great guidance about local hikes. We plan to come again soon!!

I've been staying here for many years. The property adjoins a State Park. In winter one can snow shoe or ski almost immediately off the front porch straight into the woods. In summer, these same trails offer fine views. And of course, Tahoe City is only a mile away. A plethora of other trails surrounding the lake are minutes away,as are all of the North lake ski resorts. The rooms are clean and fresh and affordable. Honestly, I love his place! A fantastic inexpensive get away. And it's outside the noise of Tahoe City.

I had the pleasure and privilege of staying at Tamarack Lodge for more than 2 years. That in itself is testimony to how great Tamarack Lodge is. From the moment I arrived, the owners Gerard and Frederique Fenech, went above and beyond to make my stay happy and comfortable. Gerard and Frederique, their children, their labrador Indie and housekeeping manager Anita made me feel so welcome. They were always friendly and accommodating. The location of Tamarack is fantastic. It is situated in the forest and if you are lucky you get to see beautiful bears. I saw many. The Lodge is within walking distance from Lake Tahoe, very close to town and close to the ski resorts. I can highly recommend Tamarack Lodge. When I return to Tahoe City I will definitely be staying at Tamarack again as I look forward to creating more beautiful memories at this wonderful Lodge. Thank you to the Fenech family for a most memorable stay.

Gerard, one of the owners and General Manager lives on site. Thus be assured, when you check in, your needs as a guest will always be a priority. There many styles of accommodations from which to choose; all are immaculately maintained. "Rest Assured" your sleep will not be interrupted by another inconsiderate guest. The Lodge has quite the explicit guest contract which essentially says "hotels are for sleeping." Special parking needs can be accommodated if requested in advance...yes, endless customer service is the hallmark here.
