A few of my family members have been staying at the Gunn House for years. This was my first time coming with them for the Sonora Annual Christmas Parade. I fell in love with the place. Our family had several rooms, mine was on the second floor in the front. (Perfect for watching the parade). The room was large, 2...

Far too many speed through this lovely gold county area. Here you'll find all that Sonoma and Napa has to offer in great wine production, at half the price. So it goes for Gunn House. The name itself conjures images of the rough western gold era, and you do get the big porch and open front lawn! Upsides: Lovely clean...

My partner and I recently spent a lovely weekend at the Gunn House Hotel in Sonora. We loved our stay! The hotel is very historic. It was built in 1850 and over the years has been a private home, a hospital, a newspaper printer and of course a hotel. The rooms, parlor, office and hallways are filled with antiques. The...

We recently stayed at the Gunn House for 2 nights as a base for visiting Yosemite which was approx a 1hr and a half drive away. Once we had checked in Tracy (the manager) was very helpful with providing us with information regarding where to eat for lunch and dinner. Would recommend the lighthouse deli for lunch and Christopher's the...

We stayed at this historic property last month. The hotel is nice but has some rough edges. First, although it is a non-smoking hotel, there are chairs and ashtrays in every outside sitting area. It was pretty disgusting to have to walk through smoke to get to your non-smoking room. They need to designate one area that is not a...

After a hot drive from Yosemite, the pool at the Gunn House Hotel was a welcome sight which we made use of as soon as we had checked in (the hotel provides towels). It is set in a pretty little garden with a choice of places to sit and relax. My family stayed in 2 rooms at the rear of...

We stayed at the Gunn House for one night after driving through Yosemite. It was beautiful from the outside and the inside was no different. The room was small but so nicely decorated with plenty of pillows! They provided an excellent breakfast, so glad I don't have a sweet tooth would have stayed there all morning eating their cakes. Staff...

I first stayed here 25 years ago. Loved it then, love it now. It's a fun place to stay if you are in the area. Suggest reserving far enough ahead to select one of the rooms in back, rather than the street or side. They are quiet with a wonderful deck with tables & chairs. The rooms are clean, &...

The Gunn House provides a unique experience. It is part motel and part bed & breakfast. It offers one of the best complimentary breakfasts I have had in a motel. The rooms are nicely decorated but some are a little cramped. Wireless internet is provided to the rooms but because of the thick stone walls was largely unusable except if...
