We chose The Landsby to celebrate our anniversary. Great choice. Location was excellent after playing golf and wine tasting. We stayed 3 days. Happy hours is crowded but didn't loose the boutique feel. Kudos to Erika at the restaurant!

Room was fine but the morning breakfast during the week is wanting. Particularly if one wants to prepare for wine sampling later. Might as well not even include it and go in search of Danish breakfast options.

My husband, toddler and I stayed for two nights over MLK, Jr. weekend in the Tower Suite King. We booked this hotel (and the trip) thinking that we would have a two-story room (as advertised) so we could relax downstairs while our child slept in a crib upstairs. What we didn't learn until check-in was that our room was not...

We truly had a superb stay at the Landsby, our only regret was not having more days to enjoy this beautiful property. This mid century, scandinavian-decorated hotel is so beautifully and thoughtfully decorated! You go in and don't want to come out. Our room was very spacious, with a lovely color scheme in greys, yellows and neutrals, lovely decoration, and...

We had a very nice time at the Landsby. the decor of the hotel is very scandinavian, quite beautiful. Really loved the wood flooring in the room. Beds were comfortable, bedding was nice. L'Occitane products in the bathroom, nice plush towels, good shower. My only issue was the room was right by the stairs and at 5:30 am there were...

We have stayed at the previous Petersen Village Inn since 2001. When they closed we decided to try the Landsby. This is our fourth visit since June 2015 and each time the quality and service is less. The included breakfast is miserable with fewer choices each time. Now you have to serve yourself. It is obvious they want to order...

Exceeded in all areas! The hotel is a refreshing and relaxing departure from the ordinary. Loved the crisp European decor and friendly hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The Landsby and the community of Solvang CA are gems that we anticipate visiting again. Cheers!

My husband and I stayed at the Landsby along with other family members on a post-Christmas trip at the end of 2015. We all agreed it was the nicest hotel we had stayed in for quite some time - and we all travel quite a bit. The rooms were lovely - spacious and very well appointed. Overall the decor throughout...

We loved everything about this hotel! The lobby was fun, contemporary and beautifully decorated. We came early but I did not want to go anywhere but wait in this lovely lobby that felt more like a really cool living room (including interesting books). Who ever did interior design of this hotel they did an amazing job. Our room was specious,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Landsby, a 41-room boutique hotel, brings a unique hospitality offering to Solvang. Located in downtown Solvang, a small town in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, the property combines a bright contemporary design with Scandinavian elements inspired by the town's Danish roots. The Landsby, which means "the village" in Danish, offers an authentic hospitality experience to both visitors and locals. Designed by Santa Monica-based design firm, Studio Collective, the hotel incorporates a Scandinavian lodge aesthetic with a design nod to the past. The welcoming lobby and bar have a lively atmosphere and makes for the perfect place to enjoy a craft cocktail or glass of locally-produced wine. The bright and welcoming guestrooms, including several junior suites and our signature tower suite, is finished with blonde woods, brushed brass fixtures, genuine leather accents and sophisticated, yet comfortable, handcrafted furnishings. The rooms feature whimsical artwork commissioned by a regional artist and thoughtful accessories, which work together to create a residential ambiance. All guests have access to the property's outdoor garden lounge. It provides an oasis for guests to relax and unwind among lush landscaping and romantically lit trees. Additionally, the property serves as an ideal retreat for meetings, with multiple meeting venues offering a total of 2980 square feet. The property also provides full-service amenities, catered meals from the restaurant, as well as access to courtyard and garden areas that can be used for breaks. Mad & Vin, the hotel's restaurant, is inspired by the local wine region of the California coast. The name of the restaurant, which translates to "food and wine" in Danish, continues to play off of the hotel's Scandinavian inspiration. Our Executive Chef creates dishes that captures flavors from around the world and incorporates them into foods native to the area. The restaurant offers dinner Tuesdays - Sundays days in addition to daily breakfast. Complimentary breakfast is included for all hotel guests. Located 35 miles northeast of Santa Barbara, The Landsby is centrally located in downtown Solvang and steps away from boutique shops, bakeries, art galleries, sidewalk cafes, wine-tasting rooms, and restaurants. ... more   less
