The Landsby is a lovely inn. Our King room looked beautiful, but there was a lack of some vital practical items. There was a shortage of conveniently located power outlets, sounds trivial, but it was a hassle, there were no outlets within reach of the bed, so our phones had to lay on the floor out of reach. In the...

This hotel is lovely, the decor, the toiletries in room, the little touches like fancy gowns and lavender pouches...lovely stay! The staff in the bar weren't friendly. The breakfast was sufficient (toast, granola, pastry) but bear in mind that cooked foods aren't included. Great shower, great bed, tv etc

Just 2.5 hours outside of Los Angeles, you will find the AMAZING and CHARMING town of Solvang. Within the town center, you will also find the superb Lansby hotel. Its so sweet and charming, you just might leave with a cavity. The food in the restaurant is insane and cannot be missed. The accommodations are nice and the quality of...

Very charming hotel, delightful staff and amazing location. comfortable and walkable to everything. Best location and really really nice room. I just wish the area stayed open later. The bar is great and happy hour is just right right (timing, value, food options etc)

This hotel is a first class place. Probably the best in the town of Solvang. It is in the center of the town site and walking distance to everything to do & see. It appears to be extensively renovated with slick design and high quality workmanship. Each room seems to have a unique personality. All rooms have hard wood floors...

Located in the middle of the "main street" of this Danish-themed burgh, The Landsby is a bit of a pleasant secret. The exterior is typical of the town's Scandinavian twist, but once inside you realize the interior is up-to-date modern in look and feel. Interiors have a calmingly spare, yet comfortably appropriate furnishings. The towels are luxe and the beds...

Drove up to Solvang on a whim with 3 teenage girls. We were able to find a double room for one night here. The room was fantastic - big, wood tile floor, clean, comfy beds and quiet. The room faced the road and was just up the open staircase from the bar area so I thought it would be loud,...

The Landsby is very centrally located to most restaurants and attractions in Solvang. It's very modern. Very sparse decor but is somehow cozy. The staff who we encountered were all super friendly and accommodating. We did have issues with ease of use on not only the shower but lights. Yes, the lights in the breakfast nook alluded us for a...

Located in downtown Solvang, you can park and walk anywhere and everywhere. Wine tasting, shopping, entertainment and lovely scenery all around. The room with two beds was spacious with a separate sitting area where we could share our wine from the day's adventure. The Happy Hour in the hotel lobby appeared to be the place to enjoy discounted food and...

So, I did not stay here, but I did take time to have dinner at this lovely new hotel in the heart of Solvang. Among the overdone kitsch of this town (and that is lovingly said as I do appreciate its quaint scandinavian history, culture and style), a place like the Lansby is refreshing! A modern take on Scandinavian simplicity...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Landsby, a 41-room boutique hotel, brings a unique hospitality offering to Solvang. Located in downtown Solvang, a small town in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, the property combines a bright contemporary design with Scandinavian elements inspired by the town's Danish roots. The Landsby, which means "the village" in Danish, offers an authentic hospitality experience to both visitors and locals. Designed by Santa Monica-based design firm, Studio Collective, the hotel incorporates a Scandinavian lodge aesthetic with a design nod to the past. The welcoming lobby and bar have a lively atmosphere and makes for the perfect place to enjoy a craft cocktail or glass of locally-produced wine. The bright and welcoming guestrooms, including several junior suites and our signature tower suite, is finished with blonde woods, brushed brass fixtures, genuine leather accents and sophisticated, yet comfortable, handcrafted furnishings. The rooms feature whimsical artwork commissioned by a regional artist and thoughtful accessories, which work together to create a residential ambiance. All guests have access to the property's outdoor garden lounge. It provides an oasis for guests to relax and unwind among lush landscaping and romantically lit trees. Additionally, the property serves as an ideal retreat for meetings, with multiple meeting venues offering a total of 2980 square feet. The property also provides full-service amenities, catered meals from the restaurant, as well as access to courtyard and garden areas that can be used for breaks. Mad & Vin, the hotel's restaurant, is inspired by the local wine region of the California coast. The name of the restaurant, which translates to "food and wine" in Danish, continues to play off of the hotel's Scandinavian inspiration. Our Executive Chef creates dishes that captures flavors from around the world and incorporates them into foods native to the area. The restaurant offers dinner Tuesdays - Sundays days in addition to daily breakfast. Complimentary breakfast is included for all hotel guests. Located 35 miles northeast of Santa Barbara, The Landsby is centrally located in downtown Solvang and steps away from boutique shops, bakeries, art galleries, sidewalk cafes, wine-tasting rooms, and restaurants. ... more   less
