We pulled off hwy 80 just after a busy weekend in Carson City I pulled off to avoid a Traffic Jam .I was extremely tired and needed to rest. The owner had no rooms avail due to a lack of employees and unforeseen circumstances. He gathered his family and made up a room for us while we enjoyed a cocktail...

Cozy historic setting. Under new management - doing all the right things. We spent a mini-reunion weekend there with a group of about 20. We partied hard and half the staff and some stray Burners joined us. Great setting on the Yuba River.

Great little place to stop and have a few drinks on the way to Reno. Kind of a throwback to the old log cabins. Will definitely come here again. Haven't had a chance to try any of the food yet, but there are always people eating when I have been there.

What more could you expect or ask for? This is my secret getaway if traffic on Interstate Eighty is stalled by winter weather conditions or the frequent accidents as skiers return from Tahoe. I'm only been as far as the bar, and the dinning room. Not as an overnight guest. Change in ownership has not affected me, I've always found...

Hi. To all of you out there who have had unpleasant experiences at the old Rainbow Lodge as we have, there is good news! It's under new ownership and they are making improvements as we speak. I gave this 5 stars because it sounds like it's going to be great. Please see their website to get updates on the progress...

This is a charming place, it's not anything like a modern hotel so don't expect too much of it. The building is a beautiful old (1869) stone and heavy wood structure, and there are three large stone fire places in the public areas, one in the "living room" to your right as you enter, and one in each of the...

My husband and I loved our leisurely lunch on a beautiful-cold-winter Friday. Our young servers were so professional for their age and were clearly well trained by similarly great managers. Although the decorating was a little outdated and carpet, window treatments, lighting, bedding was really tired, the basic structure took us back to the Lodge's early roots.Big beams, stone walls, awesome bar, fireplaces, were so well cared for...

I had been to the Rainbow Lodge a few times and it was alright. Beautiful place but the staff has never impressed me. Now I am blown away by how I was treated. I come into the bar to eat a burger after skiing. Nobody is at the bar so I call in the back after waiting for 5 minutes....

Dinner reservation for a Friday late afternoon: warm-hearted people, hot food, cool ambiance. The nicest people and too much food for our appetites (we had to ask for doggie bags); would have liked to have seen a few more special vegetarian offerings but I imagine most slopers don't care. Love love love the building and old posters - I say...

We stayed at this lodge, a great weekend. the interior is nostalgic of an old lodge, pine timbers everywhere. The property as very clean, room was comfortable (we stayed in one with full bath). great bar and wonderful dining among the pine timbers and large fire places. The food was very good. Staff was great, helpful and kind. walk outside...
