Unfortunately this was by far the dirtiest hotel iv'e ever been too. Im the kind that never writes reviews, but this one was worth writing about. :( It was sooo dirty. we opened a window for fresh air, and there was no air at all cause the window screen was just SO dirty and with spider web, the shower drain...

Dear shevchenkotamila, We are deeply concerned and taken back by your review. As you can see from our over 600 positive reviews, this is clearly far from a standard experience at The Hotel California. I'd like to express my sincere apologies for any and all inconsistencies experienced while staying with us. We pride ourselves on having unbeatable service, price, location,...

I really loved this small hotel - it got into my good books even before we arrived, with the manager James emailing me promptly and very helpfully in response to some queries I had about getting to Union Station LA early in the morning. Very well done! It's an interesting, quirky place and the location is superb - it has...

It's interesting how an opinion of a place can be formed in an instant. Since I was staying with family, I didn't stay at THC but excitedly went there to see it, take pictures, and buy some souvenirs. I only knew of the song and didn't know this was a place! until I was looking for things to do in...

We knew what we were getting with Hotel California. A quaint 60's run down hotel (not too expensive) offering the best location both in terms of shopping, restaurants and beach. And it lived up to quirky reputation. Furniture old but comfortable. Decoration of room in keeping. Only problem we had was slow in intermittent wifi which they should fix. Do...

We took a trip to Santa Monica to see the pier which is the end of The Mother Road Route 66. The Hotel California is a five minute walk to the famous pier and beach. The hotel can be described as a boutique hotel, older but very well maintained. Soo convenient to the pier, beach, restaurants, and the Hop on...

Keep in mind the 4 out of 5 review is relative. It is not a five star traditional hotel. It is an older hotel that is in decent condition, decently clean, in an amazing location, with a generally good staff that genrously offers up basic amenities and has invested in good comfortable bedding. Hotel California was more quiet than I...

After the hustle and bustle of downtown LA we moved to the Hotel California and what a change! This isn't some posh fancy hotel but what you do get is an interesting clean room that's decked out with music themes and a guitar on the wall, the staff at reception couldn't have been more helpful, tea coffee, hot chocolate and...

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
