Expensive for a 2 star hotel.
Initial impressions not great – at check in I had to listen to a rant about Uber drivers. Hospitality rule #1 - don't be negative when welcoming new guests! A different guy at check out was the opposite and...More
I really enjoyed this hotel. The room was recently updated and Very clean. And the ocean view was beautiful!!! The Garden area was very relaxing and peaceful. The staff was very friendly and helpful! If I ever make it back to the Santa Monica area...More
Stayed for just the one night, the hotel was nice enough, tea and coffee in the room. Close to the beach and the pier and only a 15-20 minute walk from the main drag of shops and restaurants. Only real issue I has was the...More
Nice, clean hotel with beach views.
Bicycle hire available - an ideal way to travel along the coast as there are designated cycletracks. Coffee machines in each room with mini-bar and snacks. Short walk to beach and pier. No breakfast available but plenty on offer...More
Stayed in the queen economy. Lovely room although I thought it was quite expensive for what it was. Good location as it's right on the beach and the use of bikes is really handy, even if they are an extra cost.
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller
coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
