We just left Ocean View Hotel and had an amazing stay! It was a very last minute booking, so we weren’t expecting much, but we were beyond pleasantly surprised. It was easy to get to from Ocean Avenue and the valet area was clean and covered. We were able to check in about 1.5 hours early to our room and David and Heidi even helped us stay an extra hour after checkout time, as well. The room was spotless and filled with so many extras that I haven’t seen in a while since COVID (toothbrush kit, shave kit, makeup remover wipes, etc.). The air worked well and it wasn’t noisy at all on the interior of the hotel. You cannot beat the location of the hotel-it was about a three minute walk to hotel, which was great for our little kids. There are tons of restaurants in the area ranging from $4 slices of pizza and $100 per person fine dining. The area was safe and clean, so we felt very comfortable walking around. The whole hotel staff from the valet to housekeeping to the front desk were extremely kind and helpful. We will stay again!

Had a fantastic stay at the Ocean View! Absolutely loved it and would definitely stay again!
Pros: - LOCATION!! Directly across the street from Santa Monica beach - easy pedestrian walk to beach, the pier, and Palisades Park. I loved the ease of going out at any time to be near the ocean here, but especially to watch the sunsets. - Very helpful and friendly staff! Shout out to Joy, Eva, Sebastian, and everyone on shifts 8/1-8/5! Super accommodating for anything I inquired about including amenities, local area, and early check in/late check out times. - The extra amenities: Nespresso coffee in room, beach towels (with a convenient tote bag!), bike rental voucher for the place right around the corner (Do it! Beautiful biking path that runs all the way from Pacific Palisades down to Marina Del Rey right along the beach) , and gym passes to the nicest gym I’ve ever been to which is also an easy walk from the hotel since there isn’t one on property. - It’s eco-friendly! They put a great deal of care in the detail of how they approach this in all aspects of the hotel. Green clean program gives you a $10 credit for skipping unnecessary room cleaning. They even offer eco friendly toiletries and guest supplies in the room that are lovely (bath scrub, ear plugs, a little aroma therapy pillow spray, dental kit, sewing kit, etc). - Proximity to tons of restaurants/shops with any kind of food you could want. Easily walkable so I didn’t need a car, which saves a lot of money with local parking prices.
Cons: - Absolutely zero for me. It is in a busy section of Santa Monica so near the pier but I like this area, so I didn’t mind the number of people around. More quiet on weekdays vs weekends.

Ocean View Hotel is directly across the street from Santa Monica Beach. Unfortunately almost the whole time we were there it was foggy and we couldn't see the ocean view so be aware that might happen. The hotel is in a great location on the main strip near plenty of restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly and allowed us to get to our room early. The valet service was excellent and they were also very friendly and professional.
The room was clean and beds were comfortable. I personally didn't like the bathroom. If you're a fan of "rain shower heads" then you will like the shower. I am not. Also the shower is glass and you can see yourself showering in the mirror in full fluorescent lighting. Doesn't do much for the old self-esteem. The water temperature varied greatly as people in other rooms were flushing toilets or whatever. We got a room with a balcony which was nice to open up the room to fresh air. Be aware that if you stay in this hotel, you WILL hear noise from the street. There is a price to pay being this close to everything. The traffic noise and nightlife noise can be quite loud. The hotel provides ear plugs but we always bring our white noise machine.
Getting to Venice Beach is quite the walk. We opted to Uber there for about $10. Santa Monica Pier is very entertaining. Be prepared to be told about Jesus. A lot.
There are quite a lot of people living on the street and/or passed out on the beach area. This is to be expected I guess if you're visiting warmer areas of the country. There were a few individuals eating out of the trash cans which was sad to see.

Like you mentioned, being on Ocean Avenue, we are on a busy street which can be prone to the noise but we do our best on limiting noise that comes within our property. Thank you also for leaving tips on getting to Venice! We do also offer free daily bike passes that can help with the commute but of course you can't go wrong with rideshares! Very nice boutique hotel with views to the Santa Monica pier and beach. The service was outstanding. We just got off a cruise ship and wanted to spend an extra night in California. Check in is at 4 but we arrived super early and the hotel staff made every effort to have our room ready early, we truly appreciated that. The bathroom had all toiletries and the room was equipped with a nespresso machine (free of charge) plus snacks and drinks at a charge. The room was very clean we truly enjoyed our stay and our balcony views! We definitely will be back!

Hotel parking was valet. There is a $45 fee per day which is a little expensive but I really did not need to take my car out due to everything being so close . Literally, walking distance. The queen side beds were a little on the smaller side more like full size beds so if you're trying to take a fifth person make sure you book a bigger room. They do have rollaway beds but I was not able to obtain one due to it being a fire hazard. You can however, request one for a king bedroom. Book accordingly. Overall my view was amazing and waking up to the beach view and beach breeze was out of this world amazing! Very clean as well and had very neat and good amount of amenities. Such as, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, loofa, extra shower caps, toothbrush, toothpaste, make-up removal wipes, huge bath towels, hand towels and hair dryer. bedroom was very clean and bathroom very fancy. Their a mini fridge not so much for yourself but with drinks you can buy and no microwave. Not really needed if you are there for a little getaway as there is restaurants all over.

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel (2 days) on our recent trip to LA. Heidi at the front desk was great and helped make our stay with my family memorable. The location steps away from the beach and pier were ideal given that we had such a short trip. The amenities were great given that the amenities fee includes free bike rental which we took full advantage of. The rooms were large and modern.

We chose this Hotel because it had the beach crossing the street and in a walking distance to the Santa Monica pier, pretty close I'd say. Hotel parking is $50 p/night, I guess that's the price for having your car handy and safe, besides it gives you some sort of 'piece of mind'. Heidi cleared all our doubts/questions and we always felt comfortable there. Logan kept our car safe taking in count parking space looked so narrow. The Room was good for the price and it comes with more than few ammenities for the guest as well as with a mini-bar fully packed and a basket with candy/snacks in it (scan code for prices). The Ocean View Hotel provided us a great experience during our stay over New Years. The accommodations were nice and the staff was absolutely amazing!
I can't say enough about the staff starting with Joy the moment we checked in, she was very pleasant, professional and accommodating. Joy went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure we had a pleasant experience.
Additionally, I mentioned to Joy that it was my wife's birthday on New Year's day and she arranged a birthday surprise with the Manager Ashley for my wife, so when we returned to the room on New Year's day, there was a flower arrangement, candy and a card signed by the entire front desk staff to include Ashley Christian, Heidi, Eduardo and Joy. This was an incredibly nice gesture that put my wife over the moon, that I appreciated immensely!
In addition to the quality customer service from Joy, I have to give a special shout out to Heidi for being so helpful and accommodating during our search for transportation on New Year's Eve which was very challenging to say the least. Ultimately we made to our destination thanks to Heidi.
Although Ocean View Hotel doesn't have a restaurant, we were able to eat at their sister hotel location which included a 20% discount.
I highly recommend the Ocean View Hotel in Santa Monica if you are visiting the LA area. I will forever be a fan of the Ocean View Hotel and will definitely rebook again the next time we're in the LA area.

The best boutique hotel in Santa Monica is my go-to every three months for work. The rooms are always spotless and comfortable, especially the ones with balconies, king-sized beds, and beautiful ocean views. The location is great, and the prices are reasonable. The customer support from the entire staff is amazing—they are polite, helpful, and professional. Every stay is consistently excellent.

This hotel is in a perfect location in Santa Monica right on the beach, steps away from dozens of restaurants, shops movie theatres etc. The room was so well appointed ---everything you could want was there. Most importantly the service was simply outstanding. The people at the front desk couldn't be more helpful, the housekeeping staff were so warm and responsive, the parking valet was terrific. I have stayed in literally hundreds of hotels but the service at the Ocean View was the best I have ever experienced!

Booked through my regular travel agent and nothing was mentioned about resort fees being payable. Had to cough up in departure. Also hotel charges 50 dollars per night for car parking. Very few options nearby to park so had to use it. Added a lot to our stay. It’s fairly regular to charge resort fees now. Las Vegas was extortion at 59 dollars per night. Funnily SF didn’t charge us anything so was happy with that.
There are more places to choose from in the Santa Monica area.
