I had a trip planned to stay with friends but at late notice could not stay with them. This hotel was within walking distance of their house and just about within my budget. Booking a room proved difficult as there were so few available for the dates I needed but following emails we made it (by moving rooms after a...

Seaview Motel has an excellent situation for a reasonable price. It is very close to the Santa Monica beach and walking distance to the pier. Room is nice and big enough. The bathroom and small kitchen are situated at the back and would need some upgrade even though everything is cleaned. Since the windows in these rooms are not recent,...

We stayed at the Seaview Hotel for 7 nights. Normally, I could much prefer the JW Marriott or The Loews, but due to budgeting reason, we opted for a cheaper alternative. The room was nice size, with a king bed. Bed was comfortable. There was a small fridge, a sink, and a microwave with a very short wire (plug). No...

I wasn't expecting much when I booked this hotel but it was hard to find a low cost accommodation with such great location. Owners are very friendly and gave us a tonne of places to eat. We went to Cabo Cantina (mexican resturant) for dinner, huge cocktails for 2 for 1 - great recommendation. It has free parking and is...

My partner and i stayed here for one night on a flight layover. For $88 we werent expecting too much but were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is right on the beach and 5min walk away from the pier and the town. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable. It included a massive king sized bed, multiple arm chairs, a kitchenette,...

Amidst the fancy-schmancy hotels of Santa Monica lies the retro Seaview Hotel. We loved this place! $135 flat for a king room if you pay cash (there's an ATM out front). No frills except for the location. Clean. Well cared-for common areas with lovely tropical plants and flowers. Walk to everything. Free parking. Two floors - better views on the...

Rooms are nice, modern and clean. The location of this place is amazing. The owner was so helpful with a wealth of knowledge about the area he really helped us out with recommendations of where to eat with the kids. Will go back and stay here again

We'd arrived on a morning flight into LA from Australia. We were looking for a cheap hotel to stay the night at Venice Beach or Santa Monica. We walked the boulevard and dropped into a few places. The prices were blowing me away a bit. We stumbled on this place. Cheapest in the area. Was clean and did the job....

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay at the Seaview. Our room was very clean and service was friendly. The weather was terrible and we arrived much later than planned. When I called from the airport, we were given a helpful alternative to the interstate and avoided worse traffic. We had a lot of dining options within walking distance and...

I'd like to start out by saying the rooms are fine, large and even have small kitchens (which was a surprise), however the service and appearance of the front office is absolutely appalling. When I first arrived, nobody was in the office to check me in. A while later a woman runs up from behind me and lets me in....

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
