Booked here for a 4 night stay on business from Australia. Wanted somewhere with a bit more space and comfort and this place was spot on. Absolutely HUGE room that felt like I had my own spacious one bedroom apartment. Great location about two blocks from the 3rd St shops and not far to the beach. Beautiful building and surroundings....

A boutique hotel in old Spanish style building. Clean and comfortable. We used their transfer service to and from hotel. Easy 5 min walk to Santa Monica beach. Close to shops. No restaurant on site. Restaurant just down the road. Friendly staff. Really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here for three nights and despite all the hype I'd heard about Palihouse I actually think the hotel was over-rated. Sure the building is nice and the architecture impressive, the interiors are beautiful but for the price? Neither my partner or I was convinced. I really wanted to love this place but the lack of air conditioning on...

Dear Ben M, We are sorry to hear your stay with us did not meet expectations. Whilst the property does not have air conditioning, all of our rooms have several large operable windows, which usually allow for the wonderful Santa Monica cool ocean breeze to circulate. We also have ceiling fans in most rooms and portable fans in all of...

We recently stayed at the Palihouse and enjoyed a very pleasant weekend. Our room was charming, spacious and comfortable with a kitchen if you were interested in cooking. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast that was provided on the weekend and the refreshments in the afternoon. We had an excellent lunch recommendation for the Blue Plate Oysterette which was a short...

Our rooms, all with fully equipped kitchens (except the classics and Penthouse level) are perfect for anyone who is looking for the comforts of a home-away-from-home. The hotel is central to all of the great eateries in the city, and Blue Plate Oysterette is...

Lovely hotel. Old world atmosphere, attentive staff and great location. Valet parking was available for a price but worth it because of the kimiyed oarking in the area. Near beach and walking distance from great restaurants and shopping. Definatley recommend this hotel.

Two night stay. Given upgrade to an enormous and beautifully decorated suite. The whole place is warm with eclectic decor blending old with new. The staff were fantastic especially the valets/porters. Cannot fault this place at all!

Palihouse is a boutique style hotel. The room I had was a suite with a kitchen and small table. It overlooked the street and was nice. The reception area is interesting but with little to offer. If is has a restaurant, I missed it. Therefore you have to go out to eat - not always convenient. It's an expensive hotel...

Dear JKLS333, We are so sorry to hear you would not return. Our all day breakfast café in the lobby is available to all of our guests from 7am to 3pm, and dinner from 5pm to 9:30pm. We are also just a hop, skip and a jump from some of the best restaurants LA has to offer. Although we don’t...

The rooms are very comfortable and elegant. The staff is extremely friendly and cater to your needs. The food service needs to be worked on, as the restaurants they use do not like to substitute and they have a really small menu. However, the location is great and in a short walk you can get to dining. They should display a...

Showed up. Couldn't find reservation. Computer problems. Agent made about 9 phone calls and no one knew what to do. Seems like a fun place but don't stay in the hotel, they haven't figured out how to run a hotel.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
