Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.

. One of the sad problems of hotels that become local institutions is that the staff seem to become snotty and think they are superior to the guests. This was our second trip to this once lovely hotel, but it's now so up-itself that we wont be returning. I will relay just

I travel to LA on business quite a bit but have never stayed at Shutters before. It is extremely comfortable in an old world kind of way. My Ocean View room is large and home like. The bed is super comfortable and the view gorgeous. Love the super deep marble jacuzzi bath tub

The biggest issue was with our check in. We arrived after 2:30pm. The receptionist told us our room wasn't ready yet and there were no rooms available. He took down my phone number and sad he would call us as soon as a room was ready. 4pm, the official check in time came and

Stayed here for a few nights during USC Trojan Family weekend. Convenient for USC Campus as a result of the Light Rail connection to campus right from Santa Monica Pier station. Really idyllic location right on the beach, rooms were really well appointed and the restaurant was

It's not "resort" access per say but public access. A very nice, short walk. Approximately 10 minutes-ish!

Good Afternoon GJSophie, For a family of four, with young children, I would recommend booking either two connecting rooms (king - two double beds) or a suite. The difference is that with the two rooms you will have two separate bathrooms. With the suite, there is a separate living rooms and bedroom, and the children would be sleeping on a queen size sofa bed. Some of our suites also have the option to book a connecting room, making it a two bedroom suite. Feel free to contact us at 866-527-6612 for further assistance. Regards, Brett Zapel

Are pools heated
Good Morning Elizabeth, The pool and jacuzzi are both heated. I have verified with the engineering department that the pool temperature is kept at 82 degrees, and the jacuzzi is kept at 102 degrees.
