Chaminade Resort & Spa boasts a serene and inviting atmosphere that captivates many guests, offering scenic vistas and a tranquil setting. Visitors often celebrate the hotel's amenities such as the spa, pools, and dining options, although some feel improvements in service and maintenance are needed.
The spacious rooms are appreciated for their layout, yet criticisms arise regarding outdated decor and cleanliness. While the resort's natural location is a highlight, commanding relaxation and activities, opinions on value are mixed, with some guests questioning the cost relative to the experience provided.

We booked our room with a third party payment service and when we checked in they charged our credit card for room incidentals and the full price ($831) instead of only the $100 for the security deposit by accident. They also forgot to deliver the ordered chocolate covered strawberries and wine but they immediately compensated us for their mistake by providing a meal credit ($50) and complementary activity (smores firepit).
Overall, it is a great place to celebrate a special occasion because they will make sure any error on their part is fixed in a timely manner and does not ruin your experience. All the staff is very friendly, there are many activities to do, and the free guided tour with Cassandra is something you will not want to miss! We hope to visit again soon.

This is a perfect place for a girl's weekend get-away! With the on-premise hiking trails, lovely spa, great restaurant and bar and good sized rooms you never have to leave the property! The service was excellent at the front desk, the spa and the restaurant, everyone was friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this beautiful resort in it's perfect location.

First time staying at Chaminade Resort and Spa, the amenities are great, the rooms are nice. However, the cleanliness of the hotel is not good, we had to empty our trash each day as we were told by a staff person that they don't provide service to the rooms except for after check out. We went to the nearby Macys to buy towels so that we would have fresh towels and we purchased a couple of comforters as the ones in the room were not clean at all. If they can improve the cleanliness, I would consider staying here again. Also, the valets were so friendly, and their customer service skills were exemplary, perhaps they could train the front desk and the cleaning staff on good customer service.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for sharing about your experience. You are correct cleanliness of a hotel is of utmost important and we take it very seriously. We do provide housekeeping service if it is requested so it's unclear as to why that didn't happen for you. I'm disappointed we didn't your expectations. We appreciate the feedback. Conditions were not as expected. The lobby was great when checking in, but once I got to my room it felt very old and pieced together. There were many aspects of my room that were unfinished or sloppy. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was hanging down from the ceiling, the ceiling in the bathroom could easily be touched without jumping, the showerhead was below my eye level and I'm only 6'2", nightstands looked very thrown together, the phone looked to be from the 90's. Overall I would just expect better quality, I thought paying double the rate of the nearby economic hotels would do something, but it was very comparable and would expect better for what ended up costing $260/night. Maybe all the other ammeneties are amazing and that's where the justified cost difference is, but if all you're looking for is a clean comfortable place to sleep, you would be better off to save the difference.

I stayed the weekend of Thanksgiving, immediately after Thanksgiving Day, which may impact some of my experience.
Overall, the resort charges like a five star experience and delivers a two star experience. At the $450/night rate I paid, I was expecting a much better experience. For context, even the Ritz-Carlton in New York is $400/night and delivers the experience you would expect from such a hotel. I wouldn't pay more than $200/night here.
The rooms are in need of repair and maintenance, with dirty, scuffed walls and broken fixtures. The bathroom is tiny, such that it was difficult to even take a shower with so little room. The ceilings and walls are paper thin: you can hear anyone upstairs walking around and the sound of people talking in the hallway. During my stay, I had to endure doors slamming, and kids yelling and running in the hallway.
For those who like a quiet dinner, this isn't the spot for you: they have live music during dinner, which makes the restaurant noise level overwhelming when the restaurant is busy. The restaurant staff seemed inexperienced and I consistently found myself without certain items I had ordered at almost every meal I had during the stay. This may have had something to do with it being Thanksgiving weekend and staffing being difficult during a holiday.
On the plus side, the views are pretty great.

My friends and I decided to treat ourselves to a mini getaway post-holiday, and decided to stay at the resort and book 80-minute massage treatments at the spa.
We booked a room with a view and patio. While the view was great, the room left much to be desired – it had a funky old moldy odor coming from the carpet. It was pretty disappointing since we expected a “resort”, but it was more of a motel room with a view. On a positive note, we did appreciate the complimentary bottle of wine.
The biggest disappointment was the spa. First of all, nobody gave us a tour of the place when we arrived for our treatments. The woman at the reception took our names, handed us robes and slippers and pointed at the direction of the women’s lockers. We’ve been to dozens of spas and have been getting massages for years, and this was nowhere near the “luxury spa” that is being advertised. The steam room and the sauna were the size of a closet (both fit 4 people comfortably). The jets in the spa hot tub weren’t working that the pressure was more of a trickle. There was no cold water for drinking. The massage was average and the therapist listened and did as I asked. Overall, the price was definitely NOT worth the service and amenities (since both were lacking).
The saving grace was the restaurant. The food and the service were excellent as well as the view. If we ever return here, it would be only for lunch or dinner.

I am sorry to hear that we disappointed you with your guest room and spa experience. What you describe is not our standard and I'd like to connect with you directly to discuss this in further detail. It is our practice to provide a guided tour upon arrival to the spa to help our guests gain the most out of their time with us, and we do have a chilled water station available at all times for guests, so I apologize that this was your experience. We are glad you enjoyed the restaurant and dining experience, your massage and the welcome gift of a bottle of wine. Please connect with us directly if you'd like to continue the conversation here at Chance.VanCleef@chaminade.com.

Went to Chaminade because of a request from my son and other family. We were having a reunion of sorts and my husband and I were traveling from Florida. When I looked on the website to book we were only planning on staying 2 nights. The website offered a special if you book 2 nights you get the third night free. Sounded great. The first 2 nights were approximately 350.00 a night. Not cheap. I decided that was great we would book the special; however when we booked it they “adjusted “ the nightly rate to over 500.00 a night so there actually is no special. Pretty deceptive marketing. We went anyway because our other family members would be there for at least 1 night. Got a king rom with pool view. There actually was no view because there was a fence. The room was small without even a chair to sit on. There was a small concrete slab for a patio but it was not even closed in. The fence there led right into the neighbors patio. It was noisy with constant feet pattering above us. The shower curtain fell down. The whole thing rod and all. You had to ask guest services if you wanted your room tidied which we did but no one showed up. Had to call for that. This is supposed to be a superior resort and the rooms are not cheap. There were towel stands by the pool but never any towels. I called about that and they said “Oh they are in the spa”. But there are no signs or indications where to get a towel. They advertise they have tennis racquets and balls available but they were from Walmart or something. My husbands racquet actually rattled. Balls were all dead. I could go on but very disappointed. We didn’t stay 3 nights. We left after the second night and had to complain to get the 2 night rate.

Chaminade was the perfect destination for our Girls' Getaway! Our rooms were comfy and I think we were the only ones on the top floor of our building so we had a lot of privacy which was great. The staff was so nice and very accommodating and the grounds were perfect! We ate at the hotel restaurant, The View, our first night there and it was yummy (although a bit pricey for what we ordered.) I had the hot tub and pool all to myself for at least an hour the next morning while one of my friends slept in and the other took a walk on one of the beautiful, forested trails on site. We took a Lyft into Capitola for dinner on our second night there and it was a quick 15 minute, $12 drive. We will definitely go back to Chaminade sometime soon!

Valet attendant Lukas was very helpful with all our luggage and gear when we arrived and departed for our daughter’s wedding. He parked us conveniently for access to our room and was very careful when maneuvering our cars. Didn’t make us wait for long either
