Our second time here in two months. It has become a Marriott in the past year or so. The hotel can't seem to decide if it is a city Marriott or an RCI resort. It has a big, lovely outdoor pool and patio....but one isn't allowed to eat on the patio unless the food comes from the restaurant (There are...

First of all there are no Four Season or Ritz Carlton's in Santa Cruz and not that I need a hotel of that stature but it is important to understand most of the choices are average at best. In fact many hotels in the area are run down and a little sketchy! So the Hotel Paradox is a great choice...

Hotel Paradox stands out for its hip, chill vibe. I've stayed here over 20 nights in the last half year or so and never had a bad experience. The service is always friendly yet professional. The amenities include a sweet looking pool and hot tub, relaxed restaurant with options from burgers to fresh fish to steaks, and a good-sized workout...

This is a nice and newer renovated hotel. Not many new hotels in Santa Cruz. It's also rare to find a good renovation from motel to hotel. Staff was friendly. Walking distance to downtown restaurant and shops. Close proximately to beach but probably need a car. Our room was on the small side but it was fine since we only...

I just stayed at the Hotel Paradox while we were on our spring break. The hotel was nice and the rooms comfortable. But the thing that made our stay so wonderful is the staff! Everyone was great but I just wanted to give a big shout out to the bartender Dan, Mark and John who were taking care of us...

Pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this little gem! I was a little concerned as they are all outside rooms, but with the tasteful wood fence around the property, it felt very safe and secure. Cool pool area with seating and fire pits. Mark (GM or Manager?) was great at checking in with everyone. Not walking distance to the...

Solid hotel all around. Very helpful and friendly front desk, good bar, good restaurant and nice rooms. One thing I need to note is that the pool was overtaken with a lot of kids during my stay, but I wasn't surprised given that Santa Cruz is a family getaway place. I would stay there again without hesitation.

This was our first visit to an Autograph Collection property and we were very pleasantly surprised. Like all hotels much depends upon your front desk experience. Here the staff was professional, polite, and friendly; a difficult mix to get just right. This is one of the few motel to hotel conversions that works. Kudos to the design team in creating...

This place is perfect inside and out. Grab a first floor room for a small outdoor patio. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Great pool to relax in. It's easy to miss driving down the street as the hotel is set back away from street traffic. It's also very close to downtown and Highway 1.

Let me say the staff was great! Very friendly and accommodating, Bill was over the top helpful and a gentleman. The property itself, not so much. Marriott has tried to put lipstick on a pig and it's not working. The hotel used to be dorms, then got converted to a Holiday Inn and a little over a year ago new...

Dear David L, Thank you for your recent visit and review. It is always rewarding to receive compliments such as yours, about our staff. We have a great team and in particular will ensure that Bill receives special recognition. I was disappointed to learn of your displeasure with the building layout While the exterior corridors are a fact, we are...
