When asked if I could change rooms I was told none others were available--and I had already prepaid through a non-refundable website...
This is the only hotel that I felt compelled to wear shoes in the room due to the condition of the floors and where I showered just before leaving the room because I felt like I was getting dirty just being in the room.
I would look for other places to stay in San Bernardino if at all possible.
Easily the WORST hotel I've EVER been to, along with ZERO customer service. Now for the story to go along with it...
I made my reservation through American Express to stay for two nights. Ended up having to cancel one night. Called Amex to do so, since you can't go directly through the hotel. I called, and they had no problems cancelling ONE night for me, saying they spoke to the manager "Bitty" (or however you spell her name) and she approved the ONE night cancellation.
I arrive at the hotel to check in and apparently my reservation had been cancelled altogether, which I did not do. So they guy at the front desk calls the manager to come help him out. Right off the bat, she is extremely rude to me, I have no idea why. All I wanted to to know was why my reservation was cancelled totally when I had not done so. The manager, Bitty kept saying over and over again how I had cancelled my reservation and that she couldn't do anything about it. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE RIGHT???? Wow...and of course it gets worse. SOO....She basically starts yelling at me saying I'm not listening to her, and won't even give me the time of day to explain that I had called Amex to cancel and she said they don't do work with Amex, only Orbitz, which Amex uses to book the hotel with. She said that I had to call Amex or Orbitz to figure it out and that she wouldn't call because it "wasn't her responsibility". WOW WOW WOW!!! I've never been so appalled in my life. First, she denies that SHE cancelled my reservation, and second, won't own up to it and won't try to even call Amex to straighten it out. Never once did she TRY to help the situation. And basically said that if I didn't give her any money to pay for another room, that she wouldn't help me at all.
So of course I had to call Amex to straighten it out myself since it was "my responsibility" and not hers for whatever reason....I call them and sure enough on their records it says that I had only cancelled ONE night, and not both and that the manager Bitty approved it. So he calls over to the hotel, apparently she starts giving him grief for a good 10 minutes before FINALLLYYYYY giving me a room to stay in. This whole entire process took more than 40 MINUTES. My goodness, I've never been so disrespected in my entire life.
So she finally gives my friend and I the room, barely even said "sorry" for the situation. I called her out for cancelling my reservation, which she still tried to yell at me once again saying that she didn't and that it was my fault, when she did cancel it, and apparently felt soooo bad that she had to make it my fault and act like the victim because I got upset with her.
Oh and the room was disgusting. Pee stains on the chair, floor was filthy, and it smelled weird.
The room was disgusting. Stains on the bed, the chair, the bathtub. There was hair on the bathroom floor, in the broken refrigerator, INSIDE the towels, in the bed. The towels had yellow stains on them and had obviously not been cleaned.Everything reeked of smoke horribly (and we are smokers!) We ran across the street to Target and actually bought cheap sheets for the bed and flip flops for the shower. I saw maids roaming the halls all evening but I have no clue what they were doing since it was obviously not cleaning the rooms.
Crush was awesome and we had a great time....we rolled back to the hotel around 2am to find shady people wandering in off the street and just sitting in the parking lot watching all the young ravers come back to the hotel. Creeped. Us. Out. So we head upstairs, wrap up in our Target sheets and go to bed.
The next morning, a little after checkout time, we're gathering the last of our things when someone starts banging on the door as loud as they can. It's the woman from the front desk who rudely informs us that we are there past checkout and that we now owe a fee. We say, ok that's fine, and try to give her our credit card. That's when she demands that it has to be cash, and it has to be NOW. We can't leave until we hand her cash. At this point, I had had enough. I firmly tell her we will pay but we will do it downstairs at the computer, and it will be by credit card. And what a surprise, she says never mind and walks away. BF and I speed away from the hotel as fast as possible.
We travel at lot for work and have stayed in some pretty sketchy hotels...this is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Yes, we could walk to the NOS center, but it's NOT worth it. Any fellow ravers looking for hotels for Beyond in March don't stay here!!! I wouldn't wish this place on anyone.
