Did an overnight stay at Hotel Mac, and will definitely go back. This is a slightly out of the way gem worthy of consideration by the traveler seeking a quiet rest and fabulous service. The house is small, less than 30 rooms. But it is worth the time to seek it out in tint Point Richmomd community.

This is not a Hilton or Marriott! Quaint, charming, old style hotel. Each room different. Have to take an elevator to check in and then knock on door, to disturb Irene so I could check in. Totally helpful and charming lady. We checked in late and no parking spaces and Irene pointed out a "temporary" space and said that's OK,...

We stayed in the Highcliff room #305. It's a lovely appointed room with a queen bed. The bed is nice with good linens and pillows. Equipped with two night stand and two chairs. The bathroom is large and has some shelves for storage. One tiny problem is that our room overlooked an area where thrash cans were stored and it...

The Mac has been around for a long time and is well-known in the Bay Area. A little out of the way, but well worth the drive. We had a birthday party for 8 upstairs. Perfect service, excellent food, a pleasant pianist downstairs, and an atmosphere of profound well-being.

We stayed in The Carriage House -a street over from the original hotel. It sits on a lovely tree lined street with its own parking. We had a bedroom/kitchen suite where everything was bright , clean and beautifully decorated. A gorgeous glass enclosed walk in shower was a special treat for these old knees. There was a small deck out...

We were attending an event at the Craneway Pavilion, about 2 miles away, and expected this hotel would meet our needs for convenience and proximity to restaurants. It more than just met needs. Our third floor deluxe suite was roomy, had both a vast shower and a jacuzzi tub, a gas fireplace and an odd but intriguing little library. Couldn't...

I enjoy quirky and off-beat experiences. I say that up front because if that is not your thing you may not have the same wonderful experience at the Hotel Mac that I did. I got here after a long week and a very long drive to find...I could not find the front desk. Hmm. Staff at the restaurant on the...

If you've never been to Point Richmond, you are in for a real treat! You'd never know that this beautiful little community is tucked in here. My husband is third mate on a ship that ports in Richmond, and we stay at Hotel Mac every time I come out to visit (about 6-8 nights each year). The management is very...

I stay at this hotel once a year for an annual sailing get together. It is extremely clean and comfy. Each room has a different motif and some have fireplaces. The hotel is above a restaurant and bar, which offers excellent food. I love small inns such as this. Cozy and casual. The hotel staff are always charming and full...

I stayed at The Mac three nights during the holidays. As a hundred-plus year old hotel that's been refurbished, I was prepared to find it tolerable,period--having chosen it strictly for the convenience factor (about a six minute car trip from my daughter's home). Instead, I liked it very much. The room was incredibly clean with a large closet and huge...
