We decided to try something different this year, and go out of town for Thanksgiving. We'd stayed at the Kon Tiki Inn over Spring Break a few years ago, but were unsure what to expect in Pismo at this time of year. We couldn't have been happier! Starting with the people who make your reservations, to the nice people who...

Yes, the reviews of this place are TRUE! It is by far the best place to stay on the beach. There isn't a bad room. Steamers next door was great, just a short walk to happy hour. We have a large vehicle and parking was not a problem. The pool was heated and the two hot tubs was excellent. We...

We found a walk-in, off-season rate on the Monday before Thanksgiving to be only $99, and all rooms have ocean views! Thanks to the TripAdvisor phone app, we wanted to check it out, and we were pleasantly surprised. A large property with nicely maintained grounds around the pool. Wooden stairs to the beach. We noticed several multi-generational family groups. Seemed...

Sadly, we only spent one night at Kon Tiki Inn, oh that it could have been longer. The room on the third floor was delightful, traditional but very comfortable with possibly the best views from a hotel I have ever experienced. The private balcony overlooked the sea with the rolling waves and a magical sunset to sit and enjoy a...

Passing through, from Anaheim-San Francisco. We would have stayed longer if we could! Very neat and tidy, clean rooms with lots of space. Direct ocean front views!!! Beach was amazing. Plenty of sand dollars to find for souvenirs! Simple but good breakfast, included. We had dinner at the restaurant beside the hotel. It was great - a little too classy...

Recently stayed at the Kon Tiki on a trip thru Pismo Beach. This place is a bargain for a hotel on the beach! The place is older and the rooms are dated and nothing fancy but the location is great! Every room has a ocean view and balcony. The grounds of the hotel are very clean and well manicured. This...

This place turned out to be highlight of our trip. Each room is direct oceanfront, with balcony. Decor is a bit cheesy (think pastel florals, light MDF wood furniture), but rooms were fastidiously clean. We ordered pizza, sat on the balcony, and shared a bottle of wine. DO THIS, it is the ultimate low-pressure, high-yield vacation night. Free breakfast, great...

Parking was ample, very easy to find right off the freeway, about a 5 min. walk from downtown Pismo (10 min walk by beach), the grounds are kept in an immaculate condition, full gym facilities, multiple jacuzzis and heated pools to choose from and the view is AMAZING!!! We arrived around 1pm and the staff was very helpful and friendly....

I usually book flights and hotel on hipmunk.com due to the extreme convenience. However, Kon Tiki was not to be found in the online booking world. It turns out you must book entirely by phone - a throwback to the old days. Never mind this "inconvenience" - this place has amazing ocean views, is extraordinarily clean, so fresh, and pays...

The view is spectacular and every room has either a balcony with chairs and a table or a patio. We were able to watch the surfing contest, at the pier, from our room. Balconies are very good sized and chairs/table looked new and very well taken care of. The balconies must be cleaned daily as everything was so clean and...
