This hotel is just gorgeous! The gardens are amazing, the room we had was huge, with a very comfortable bed. Delicious muffins, coffee, and juice are included in the room. It is situated in the heart of Anderson Valley, close to the few restaurants there are, and next door to Goldeneye Winery. I would definitely come back, and recommend it...

The property is lovely, like driving up to an Italian estate. Perfect accommodations for small groups. We had rooms 1 & 2, which was plenty of space for 6 adults (although we were 5). Each morning our units were cleaned and breakfast foods replenished. There are even fresh flowers from the garden. It's only a 5 minute walk down to...

We were travelling through Napa, Sonoma and Anderson Valleys, then on to the coast for our first time in this part of California. We made reservations at The Madrones by finding it through Google and comments on Trip Advisor. We reserved the Master room. It was nice but it is starting to look a little tired. Bed was very comfortable,...

Heather; Thanks for the taking the time out of your busy vacationing schedule to write a review. Our Innkeeper Cyndee recalled you as she had offered to make you dinner reservations but you declined, noting you had picked something up in Healdsburg on the way. Cyndee informed us you were quite nice and seemed very happy so we are a...

We have stayed at the Madrones three times over the last three years and couldn't be happier with our stay. The grounds are lovely as are the rooms. We have stayed twice in the Garden View Room and once in the spare rooms room both lovely and well appointed. Don't worry about it being a B&B as the breakfast fixing...

Stayed in the Loggers cabin which is part of the "Brambles" property run by the same folks at the madrones. It's located about 300 yards down the road. Great little cabin in the woods! Set up on a little knoll. The cabin was nicely decorated and had a little living area and kitchenette. Good heating, satellite TV, WiFi and all...

First class place in a still real corner of CA wine country. Accommodations were just right. Mid-week in Feb. we had the place to ourselves. Staff was helpful in sending us to small wineries and good area restaurants. You're left to your own here which makes it all the more peaceful & relaxing. Highly recommend.

Very beautiful place! Huge rooms and very lovely people. Will go back ASAP. The only negative part was the restaurant was closed on the day we were there, it looked really good too. We talked to a lot of people in town and they all love Stone and Embers.

We stayed here one night on the advice of friends we were visiting in Philo ( they have no room for guests so we needed to book a room somewhere). We were very pleased with the experience. We chose the dog-friendly Garden View suite and found it very comfortable and classy. I do not understand the complaints below as we...

What a great little find in the Anderson Valley! We were tasting over at Golden Eye and this place was suggested to us by Janelle and was a great recommendation! Cute little place and was everything we needed for a wonderful little stay. The owner even set up the little heater to make sure the room was comfortable when we...

We stayed at The Madrones over New Years and can't say enough good things about it. Our only regret was only being able to stay two nights! The grounds and rooms were gorgeous, the bed was amazingly comfortable, the pizza place (Stone & Embers) and tasting rooms located on-site were fantastic. This was our first time at a boutique inn...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
As seen in Sunset, Food & Wine and Departures Magazines, The Madrones is an Agriturismo style destination which offers just four luxurious guest quarters for travelers who seek something unique and intimate in rural setting. This is not a hotel or B&B, so the service is very low touch...no daily maid service is provided. Perfect for travelers looking for a place to get away without someone hovering over you. If you are looking for accommodations rich in amenities, such as spas, restaurants, room service & breakfast, this is probably not a good fit. Surrounded by vineyards and wineries in the heart of the Anderson Valley, this Mediterranean styled compound which was originally a home and private business has garnered prestigious national awards and recognition. The property has four separate tasting rooms offering local small lot wines, as well as a curiosity store, cheese counter and private gardens. ... more   less
