Our last trip was News Years in Napa and then March in Palms Springs. It is hard to compare anything to the Bardesonno in Yountville. So if they are suppose to be on the same level, I would have to say this is just an Average Hotel. Nothing spectacular. The rooms need some work. The shower/tubs were plastic and cracked....

We only stayed 1 night, but wished we were in Palm Springs for longer. We were upgraded on arrival, and our room was very quiet despite being road-side. The hotel is well-appointed and stylish, and the service was excellent. With 3 pools (one adults only) and spa as well as yoga, it is a relaxing oasis well-suited to couples looking...

We have stayed at other Viceroy properties (Florida, Colorado) and this place is the doormat of their fleet. It was basically an old Motel 6 that had some paint slapped on and funky (and tired/old) furniture thrown in the rooms. We were suppossed to stay 2 nights and we left bright and early the first morning as we needed to...

We booked this hotel having had a great experience at the Viceroy in Santa Monica. We were visiting Palm Springs for a birthday party and thought this would be a great choice to lap up the ambience of the locale. On arrival there was a queue in reception with a guest complaining that her room was not ready although she...

Lovely rooms and nice quiet pools in a pretty setting. Food above average. Great location and fun to have bikes available to zip into town. This is not a family property but perfect for a quick couples or adult getaway. Gym disappointing.

OK so you expect the great weather in Palm Springs and yes that helps but our stay here was one of our road trip highlights. Such unique and glamorous style but in no way precocious. The grounds, the pool, the room, the service - beyond our expectations. You feel glamorous but at the same time it's totally relaxing in a...

Great location, wonderful service, beautiful grounds & pools. I understand the retro decorating of the rooms. BUT the room furnishings were in terrible shape. Drapery had holes in them. Towels were thin & fraying. Bath tub was chipped & peeling. The bathroom was so very poorly lit, I had to apply makeup on a very small mirror sitting in front...

My partner and I returned to Viceroy for another long weekend from Seattle. The location is ideal, just minutes from the airport. It's an easy walk to all the shops and amenities on Palm Canyon Drive. We don't need to rent a car and can use the cruiser bikes for easy access all over town. The resort is luxurious, stylish...

My husband and I wanted a getaway weekend, something special, nearby and the Viceroy was the perfect fit. A combination of old Hollywood glam and Palm Springs chic - probably the best boutique hotel we've encountered so far. The grounds are immaculate, the decor, whimsical giving the Viceroy its fun ambiance on first encounter. One of the best features Palm...

I travel a lot for business and pleasure. The Viceroy Palm Springs makes you forget the work part of the trip. From the moment you enter theViceroy Hotel and Resort there is a feeling of calm and relaxation. The multiple pools are awesome. The staff are attentive but not overbearing. The rooms are tastefully furnished, clean and serviced efficiently and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A jewel box nestled in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, the historic Avalon Hotel and Bungalows Palm Springs rests at the foot of the rugged San Jacinto Mountains on four acres of fragrant, beautifully manicured gardens. Its Spanish architecture punctuated by a series of secluded, private bungalows, calls forth the iconic, storied Golden Age of Palm Springs, exuberantly updated with Hollywood Regency interiors by renowned designer Kelly Wearstler. At Avalon every experience has been hand-curated by a team of collaborators and bona fide hotel aficionados. You might say it's a calling. A penchant for wanderlust. A mind for singular retreats and unrepeatable vibes. We hold an affinity for one-offs, anomalies and the irrefutable allure of a personal touch. Our trademarks are small batched. Think of us as your own private hideaway. All you have to do is stay. ... more   less
