Modern, trendy, cheap and dirty. From the outside this place looks like a very hip and modern hotel.
Once you get inside your room, you notice the sticky surfaces on furniture, loud wall AC unit, lack of regular house keeping, and ridiculous nickel and diming. I can’t believe they charge $50 to have your room cleaned and this is the result. Parking is another ridiculous $15. Don’t pay for this, there is plenty of street parking and they are too cheap and understaffed to check their own parking lot.
Don’t be fooled by the slick appearances if you value any kind of standard hotel services.

Unlike many other hotels that are either pretentious or raise expectations higher than reality, often leading to some degree of disappointment when the facility is seen in person, V Palm springs does just the opposite: it is somewhat understated on the booking sites, in fact it seems to be based on a motel model from a planning point of view, but once you check-in you discover an architecturally-sensitive facility with good-quality finishes and furniture, plenty of amenities and excellent service. The day we checked-in, the internet service was down in the area, so there was no TV available: the staff apologized (even if it had nothing to do with the hotel) and offered us a drink and an entree each at their on-site restaurant: Bravo! We'll be back.

My experience was not up to par with the many good reviews shared about the Sonders Pam Springs: my patio, room fooor and shower were not clean, the amenities in the shower empty: underneath the “locked up” soap you can tell nobody cleaned for weeks. The curtains had an uninviting stain or dirt on it and the floor felt dirty and after walking on it with white socks revealed it was filthy. The plastic bed/sheet arrangement; although I understand the purpose) slips off during the night and it’s uncomfortable… the fridge did not cool; probably broken. I cleaned the wash sink but the shower was so restricted you end up with a stinging and over-pressures drizzle of water… Parking was made impossible by party guests blocking all spots and they walk around the building loudly talking and laughing at midnight in search of their vehicles… I did not like my stay here!

I stayed at this hotel for a house music event my friends were throwing and for 200 dollars a night (and 45 dollar late check out fee) I was dissapointed. The lobby is beautiful and well maintained and the rooms... not so much.
We stayed in a 2 queen room with pool view and the first thing I wasn't thrilled about was the keypad situation (code for rooms and bathrooms by the pool). The rooms have the palm springs, art deco/desert vibe but you can tell they have not been maintained in a long time The wall art had a hole in it (replace it or just take it down). The furniture and walls were chipped, stained, scratched, the floors were this weird vinyl material and was sticky and gross (I kept socks on cause, ew). There were some weird stains and spots all over the floor. The bathroom floor was dirty, shower tiles had grout, hard water stains and there was a muddy footprint in the shower. We were only there for Saturday and checking out Sunday so I didn't even bother to use the shower. The ac unit was right next to the head of one of the beds so my guest had to sleep the other way so the air wasn't constantly blowing in her face. At times the ac wouldn't work at all and just run as a fan and it got hot in our room since it was 109 degrees while we were there. The fridge did the same thing, it felt cold when we first got there but then it seemed like it wasn't keeping our items cold. Also, the shelves in the fridge had minimal space, but the fridge itself was a decent size. The bedside outlets did not work.
The balcony had a cute swinging chair, the beds were comfortable and the pool was nice. But the hotel was a little janky and if I was going to be in PS for longer than 1 night I would have probably checked out and went somewhere else after the event, especially for the rate. It was cool they let them host the house music event at their pool but, our room was a little depressing.

Firstly, the staff is amazing. Carey is your go-to guy for whatever you need from dinner recommendations, the best local coffee shop (btw it's Koffi, just down the street), local travel, and he is pretty entertaining as well. Philip and Casey were also always around to address any needs. All the staff were super friendly!
It was a little cool in the mornings, the hot tub was a great way to start the day, with hummingbirds flying around. The music at the pool was nice - in the 300 and 400 block of rooms are facing the family pool, which appeared to be the quieter side of the resort while we were there (however we admittedly did not spend any time on the other side of the property as we were really enjoying where we were). The restaurant is on that side of the resort, the music is a bit loud on the weekends but it shuts down by 10 to 10:30 pm, so that was not an issue at all.
The beds were cozy, the wifi/internet was strong, lots of towels in the room. If you are on the ground floor you have easy access to the pool, if you are on the second floor you have a nicer view overlooking the pool but you have to walk out the back and down the stairs. There is also filtered water available at all of the ice machine stations.
The building is 70 years old with extensive updates, that said, there were a few minor issues. On our last night there a person with a heavy foot step was above us and seemed to only sleep for a few hours, not unexpected in a hotel. Some of the plugs in the room did not work, but as I understand it they are working on that issue.
Finally, our shower head needed repair the first day were were there and that was taken care of right away. Very pleased with the speedy and unintrusive repair.
Thank you Sonder, Carey, Philip and Casey for making our getaway awesome!

I chose to stay here because it was recommended by a friend getting married in the area but I did not ultimately feel comfortable in the location. Everything is done by phone and doors unlock with a code (like an Airbnb). While the sheets and towels and space overall appeared clean, there was a heavy layer of dust/particles on the AC unit which blew across the room and my belongings when turned on. The club downstairs was extremely loud into the night and kept me awake as a jet-lagged traveler. The view was gorgeous (as it would be from anywhere in Palm Springs), but I was otherwise not at all impressed by my stay and I would not stay here or in another Sonder again. The same amount of money is better spent at a hotel, even a basic chain like a Mariott or Hilton.

This is an excellent choice for a "lower" budget place with a great vibe. I admit at check in I was nervous seeing the form they required to be signed to enter, but luckily we were pleasantly surprised. The form basically has you sign on the dotted line that no fun will be had - even going as far as saying they can confiscate your private alcohol from your room and keep it until check out. I guess the perk of it being a slower time for them was we did not see anyone "of authority" when we were poolside enjoying our drinks. The only thing they should improve on was the front desk staff, while they were helpful and efficient enough they all seemed like they were bored, annoyed and being held at gunpoint there. We had a ground floor room (305) 2 double beds and a bathroom along with a fridge - the ground floor units were awesome with small little cinder block court rooms - our was directly across from the pool and the morning sun coming in was fantastic

Upon arrival, I attempted to enter my room with the code provided but it didn't work. The front desk employee was not able to assist, nor was the mobile app chat service or phone call service. None of the codes worked and it wasn't until 45 minutes later that a physical key to my room was provided. I stood outside on the balcony the entire time, guarding my personal possessions as I was hoping to avoid having to take everything back to my car (100 yards away down a winding flight of stairs).
The gate to the pool, however, was only operable by a code and, since none of the codes provided worked, I had to wait until someone from house-keeping could open the gate for me, each time. That often took up to 5 minutes every time I had to exit and return the pool area. Since there were no toilets in the pool area, I had to go back to my room and then wait to be granted access back into the pool.
A bottle of wine was offered as a gesture of thanks, but that never arrived, even after reminding the front desk of this offer.
Ok, next I took a shower. When I stepped into the shower stall, I was greeted by a used bar of soap, complete with body hair stuck in it. The glass partition of the shower stall was smeared and dirty and the tile floor of the entire bathroom was sticky. When I used a wet washcloth to test the cleanliness of the floor, I wasn't surprised to see that the white washcloth was now charcoal gray with dirt. Additionally, the bathroom sink had body hair in it. I have photos of all of this.
Next, when I asked if the poolside bartender if the bar had food, I was referred to the restaurant across the way, despite the bar having food available right there. When I asked the bartender later why he didn't suggest food, he said, "well, it sounded like you wanted food that only the restaurant could provide," despite me asking for "snacks"
All in all, this was not an enjoyable experience. I have had unprofessional customer service with Sonder before (on a previous reservation in Boston in 2021). Also, a good friend of mine had a really bad experience at the San Francisco location this past January 2021, so I can't say my experience lives up to the brand image portrayed on your website, social media or YouTube and Twitter outlets.
Disappointing. I want to like Sonder and endorse it, but not sure I can.

I had a fantastic stay. Not quite understanding all the bad reviews. My rate was only about $125 a night and I stayed for 7 days. I thought great value for money. Now if you paid $200+ maybe I would feel the cost vs accommodations is not in line. Here are my thoughts:
PRO's: Comfy beds, clean rooms, large bathrooms, comp Evian (2) water each day, helpful front desk - offered to print documents out for me as no business center. Easy parking if you have a lot of luggage. Note: No elevator so request 1st floor if you have a lot of bags. Keyless system - love this. Never have to worry about key and many times getting demagnetized. Great views of mountains from pool. Jacuzzi is perfect temperature and huge. Kids pool and Adult pool A+++
CON's: Music can be annoying at pool but honestly I got use to it. Bar staff just sat talking loudly all day with personal conversations and made a comment one time when I walked past with a my Yetti filled with ice water. They didn't like the fact I never bought drinks and assumed it had alcohol in it. Bar staff could have walked around with menu's and interacted with guests. Would have sold more drinks! No one really maintained the towels at pool. I saw people leave and hours later their used towel was sitting on chair. The half glass wall shower design is terrible. Water gets everywhere on floor of bathroom. Whoever thought this was a good idea for hotel bathrooms was way off. It is just annoying and you go through tons of towels keeping the floor dry.
Bottom line - this is a motel they upgraded years ago. They don't try to be something they are not. I would definitely return as had a great stay!

I cannot recommend this place, even if it were the last option in Palm Springs.
We stayed here for a Valentine’s weekend getaway—big mistake. The room we were given felt like a prison cell, with just one small, narrow window that let in almost no light. Keeping the door open for light meant being completely exposed to everyone walking by.
The resort fee supposedly covers parking, but finding a spot was extremely difficult. When I mentioned this to the front desk staff while checking out, their response was shockingly unprofessional. The rude and condescending employee told me I could have just parked in the fire lane since it’s private property and "wouldn’t matter." So, if there were an emergency with cars blocking the fire lane—too bad, I guess.
Avoid this place at all costs.

Yes, it is. It has one or two k-cups with tea or coffee; they never refill (even if you pay for cleaning) and you can not find them at the refill station. You should buy/bring some k-cups with you.
