Room was clean and had a kitchen with lots of stuff to use which was a bonus. The room was very quiet and spacious. The only bad thing about the room is we noticed the bathroom seemed to have a sewage smell every time we entered the room and it had been hot. It however would become unnoticeable after a couple minutes so we did not bring it to the attention of the hotel as it was not a big deal. Room was not cleaned the 3 days we were there but we did not make a special request for a clean so I guess this is standard here.
Location wise it was walking distance to some hikes and walking to downtown takes about 45 minutes if you are brisk walking. You definitely need to rent a car or use Uber if you are hoping to do activities outside the hotel.
Staff were friendly, but despite being “eligible” for early check-in by virtue of our ownership status, our room was not ready when we arrived around 4:30. Eventually, about 5:30, we were offered another room, which we accepted.
Access to the bedroom requires walking through the vanity area – not what is on the floorplan on the Diamond site. That’s not a problem, but it seems odd. Light switches are in unexpected locations – likely reflecting the building’s history.
We foolishly accepted the offer for an “owner update,” which was not an update at all but another pitch to buy more points. I don’t know why timeshare companies don’t realize that they consistently leave a bad taste when they help owners understand that what we thought we bought is not what we own. And it certainly makes no sense to tell me that I “must” buy enough points to earn “gold” status. I “must” not do anything: Everything in life is a choice – including what I tell my friends about how happy – or not – I am with Diamond.
The laundry room has no security in effect so that local residents wash their work clothes in machines you’re waiting for. Some of the machines have been broken for months. The men’s bathhouse and toilet receives the most minimal WEEKLY cleaning. The RV sites are never inspected or cleaned when campers pull out. The list goes on and on....
I would recommend this resort only for very short term weekend visits and best if you use your own camper washroom.
We learned after check in that the water slides and the kids pool (whole reason we booked this resort) were closing for maintenance for the majority of our stay and after talking with several time share owners at the pool area we found out that the slides are often closed so CHECK BEFORE YOU BOOK if this is a selling feature to you.
Food from the on site restaurant was good but they don't open until 9am (late for breakfast if you have kids) and they close early so plan ahead for dinner.
Overall was not impressed and would not pay to stay again.
"The pool gets crowed early, grab some lounge chairs. Be aware if using a timeshare exchange, there is a $30 per day resort fee + tax."Read full review
