Stayed here for a long weekend during a festival held on property. Festival is an annual event. The Caliente Tropics did not disappoint! The property pool and grounds are well maintained and pretty. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. The Reef, Sanchos snd Sanchos Cantina all on site and were great options for food and excellent service. We will be back!

The location of this motel is fab - sitting in the heart of gorgeous Palm Springs, the tiki style of this original place is awesome.

The arrival is warm and welcoming and high quality customer service continues into the bar. The rooms are funky, with some original touches from back in the day, and the tiki feel sustained.

The pool is fabulous. Surrounded by the mountains, it is relaxing and with enough space to not feel crowded.

Top marks too, for being the only motel we stayed at that didn’t have plastic cups, instead real mugs and glasses were in the room.

Loved this Motel and will be back.

The stay was amazing! The room was very nice. I liked the view we had. Our shower wasn’t working right away but they sent one of their employees right away and fix the problem. Rodolfo was was very helpful and very polite. My friend and I were happy to have someone help us right away. More places should have hard working gentlemen just like him. Overall we had a great time in Palm Springs. We plan on coming back next month.

My 2 kids and I stayed last month and really loved this hotel.

The only issue we had was really noisy people in the room next to us! We had a connecting door to their room so when they came back at 1am and had a argument we were woken up and the kids got quite scared. I tried to placed towels in front on the door to lessen the noise, but I think they just need thicker doors.

The rest of our stay was great!! The pool and hot tub were the highlight for us and the kids did about 6 hours a day in them!! I was able to enjoy the great cocktails and we loved the Tiki vibe throughout!

We would 100% stay here again and loved the location and the on site restaurants!
Check in with Cirenia was easy and she was super helpfull!

My wife and I stayed a week, over Mother’s Day weekend at the end of the season. The location was close to friends and we thought the Tiki theme would be fun. Tacky is more like it. This is a very worn out old hotel. Our room, 120 (described to us as quiet, but actually next to the dumpster) was furnished with broken pieces that looked like they came from, well - that dumpster. Floors were damaged, paint was peeling, tile grout was filthy, shower control spun freely, no screen on the bathroom window so lots of flies from the dumpster. We were told there was a $15 one-time fee to have a tiny microwave in the room, but we were charged $15 per day. Pool furniture was also broken and guests were often drunk. One hen party brought large inflatable penises to the pool. We will not be returning.

Laura at the front desk was super helpful with a problem my head with a double booking on a third-party website. She also let me know that they will match any price you find on another website, so next time I will just book directly through the hotel.

The tiki touches everywhere were super adorable and I loved the Christmas and Hawaiian music that was piped in to the pool area. Also super loved the very hot Jacuzzi. Nothing was ever crowded and everything was super well-kept and clean.

The room is super Duper clean and also had little tiki touches that made it extra special.

The only tiny tiny complaint I have is that the stairwells were extremely dark at night, but that being my only complaint means the place was great.
Sadly because of Covid the tiki bar was closed during our stay, but it looks great.

I was a little concerned with a couple bad reviews a couple days before we arrived. But didn't want to change plans last minute. The motel is older... but beds were comfortable and clean. Only a shower, the air conditioner unit is a little loud, but my husband liked the white noise. Location was great, heated pool and area was really nice.

We booked a Hotwire rate and this is the hotel we received. It really is an average hotel: not the worst, but nothing to write home about either.

The room was comfortable but worn. There were chipped areas and our fridge didn’t really work. As others have highlighted, there is no microwave. There is hot water though. Spatially, there is room for improvement including expanding the toilet and shower room and including a second sink.

I recommend staying on the second floor so you have nobody above you. We heard our upstairs neighbor often which I found interesting considering the floor is cement.

The pool is nice and kept clean, but wished they warmed it. The jacuzzi is closed until further notice. There’s plenty of space to social distance and the mountains make for a picturesque background.

Downtown is about a 7-minute drive, but there are a few restaurants in walking distance including Mirasol, Elmer’s and Koffi.

The staff we encountered were friendly. Rudy checked me in and he was very pleasant.

We definitely received our money’s worth, but I’m not in a rush to return.

i never actually stayed there after the the tennis tournament in nearby indian wells was cancelled because of the coronavirus. as soon as it was cancelled i contacted the hotel and cancelled my reservation but they insisted on keeping a one-night deposit. what a ripoff. i have attended this tennis tournament for several years but had never stayed at caliente tropics before. and i will certainly never, ever considering staying there again. these people are criminals.

We stayed here whilst attending a wedding in Palm Springs and it was great. Standard motel set up but super clean, friendly staff and a good atmosphere at the hotel.

We loved the grassy area and pool.

The room was cleaned every day and for the price in the area it was brilliant. Would highly recommend.

We had friends who were staying at the Ace hotel next door and were very disappointed as they were paying triple what we paid with a very similar room etc.
