The Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel is lauded for its inviting atmosphere and prime location close to downtown attractions. Guests enjoy the hotel's clean and spacious rooms, often complimenting the attentive service from staff who are keen to assist. Wow, just amazing service one of the many bellman they have is named Mark, they all had impeccable first class service and we kept him busy. The hotel lobby is beautiful they have fruit flavored water and fruit available free all day in lobby. There is nice lobby bar with outside pool access. Restaurant has $20 breakfast buffet and other items for purchase. Tip for when using the convention center ask for a room closest or how to get thru the pool for the fastest route. We had a king size room and an L-shaped sofa too. We had a mini fridge and single brew coffee pot. Bathrooms had anti-fog mirrors and were nice. The beds were comfortable. Pizza and movie theaters within walking distance. Large easy parking lot.

I typically stay at Marriott properties when available because I find them consistent and reasonable value for the money. That being said, this property should have been rated higher. It is very clean and had nice staff. The hotel has great views and a nice pool area.
We stayed in a rom with a king bed that overlooked the pool. However the room had no dresser. There was not enough storage area in the closet for two people staying several days. It would have been nice to have robes given that the pool is a major draw for visitors coming from “snow country”. Upon request robes were proved as well as an extra suitcase rack, though neither showed up until several hours after check-in and required a second call to the front desk. Self-parking is $30.00 in an unsecured on-site lot. If you are a Marriott member it’s $20.00. The room rates are not cheap and adding the parking fee feels unjustified. A big part of being in Palm Springs is being outside but if you plan to watch TV, you’ll find a pretty meager channel lineup with little or no premium content. Also, food and drink service at the pool or in the restaurant must have very restricted hours as I never saw the restaurant open and barely saw any staff at the pool, except when they were closing down at 2pm in the afternoon. There’s no free morning coffee in the lobby but Starbucks is for sale at the bar. Expect to pay a premium for it. Would I stay here again? Not sure.

Centrally located to downtown, and 5 minutes to the airport, The Renaissance is the perfect location for exploring Palm Springs. Lovely room setting with a balcony overlooking the pool and a mountain view made for a nice stay. As a Marriott titanium member, I expect excellent service and Renaissance did not disappoint, some of the most courteous and attentive staff we have ever experienced during a visit. Large heated pool, with plenty of lounge chairs.

Couple of minor downsides... slightly dated, small selection of tv channels and many were in SD. Breakfast buffet is quiet pricy (we had vouchers) for the offerings. $20 a day for non covered self parking

Overall, will definitely stay here on our next visit to Palm Springs

Only 3 stars because:
I enjoyed most everything about our stay but was very disappointed to see the pool food and beverage service using single use plastic containers, cups and plastic straws. In this day and age it is very important to change that. There are many other options such as washable plastic cups and plates or paper. I now choose the places that I stay in big part by how environmentally conscious they are and so will look more closely at Marriott properties before booking again.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. If you are booked to go I suggest you cancel. Although their website says they have an airport shuttle, they won’t pick you up. Every restaurant is closed. There is no housekeeping daily. You have to call if you want towels or soap. The carpets were filthy. The spa is closed. There is no valet, no luggage service, no in room dining, and even though the sign says there is pool side service, it’s also closed. I called the hotels around this one and they have restaurants open. The only notification you’ll get is when you arrive there’s an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper with very small font saying they will clean your room every four days. Restaurants are closed etc. I contacted Marriott Bon Voy headquarters and they said they’d get right back to me. It’s been three weeks. You don’t get a discount even though you might as well stay at a motel 6. Actually Motel 6 maybe cleaner. I paid over $400 for three nights and had to use GrubHub and Instacart in order to eat. I called ahead about the shuttle and they told me to call as soon as I arrived and they would pick me up. That was not true. The hotel is a mile and a half from the airport. Uber charges $28 to get there. They will pick up airline crew but not hotel guests.

I loved this hotel. It is in a perfect location. We often walked out for dinner. I gave it a four for three reasons: First they charge $30 USD (($20 for members) PER NIGHT for parking when there is literally across a path, an adjacent parking lot (overflow for convention centre) for FREE. Also, I don’t think we had to pay for parking anywhere else in the city. It’s outrageous. Second, there are no glasses in the room. A sign tells you how pure their mineral tap water is, but they want to force you to buy the $8 bottle of water I guess. My only other con was that I am accustomed to a coffee station in the lobby which was not here.

Everything else was super great! The rooms are very comfortable. The staff are really awesome. The pool area is gorgeous. The fire pits and long rectangle fire place were magic. The pool side servers are really lovely.

I don’t know if I would return - the parking charges really bothered me.

I found the Renaissance Palm Springs to be very disappointing. I reserved a room with a balcony a king bed and a pool view. When I arrived at the hotel I was told that I reserved a junior suite without a pool view or a balcony. I explained to the person at check in that this was not correct. After much discussion, I produced proof via confirmation from the Renaissance that I did in fact reserve the room I requested. I was reluctantly given the room I reserved. However the room was in need of a renovation and was not clean, the balcony was so dirty you couldn't walk out without shoes. Gum was stuck on the outdoor furniture and on the indoor carpet. The shelving in the bathroom was covered with dust and we were given a room next to the elevator. I was told because of COVID we were unable to switch rooms.
I felt this hotel used COVID as an excuse not to clean or give any services, a hotel charging $300. a night should give services. We had piles of towels in our room and in order to get clean towels you needed to call and they were delivered behind your door, we waited 6 hours.
I would not recommend this hotel, however the outdoor areas were beautiful and the proximity to town was perfect. The constant music at the pool was annoying but the drinks were great. We stayed at a Hyatt after this and they actually cleaned the rooms every day and delivered clean towels
no comparison. Service and personal treatment were far superior.

The setting is beautiful and the pool area is nice. The rooms are not overly large and very lacking in storage - basically be prepared to live out of your suitcase for your stay. The location is a bit away from downtown Palm Springs, an easy short drive, otherwise somewhat of a walk. No real restaurants in the hotel, the main one is only open for breakfast, otherwise just a bar to grab a bite to eat, so expect to go out to dine.

At check in at 3 PM on a Sunday the desk clerk at first insisted that no rooms were available yet. After pecking on keyboard for ages, he finally produced a regular room in far eastern wing. The CONFIRMED suite upgrade just wasn’t available. No recognition of Titanium Bonvoy status. All this despite parking lots deserted and lobby totally empty of any guest activity. Later inquired about breakfast from another desk clerk who provided a $10 food credit.
Desk clerk emphasized free drinks at lobby bar at 4 PM for Christmas. Dropped back and female bartender just glared at me. [I was nicely dressed for evening]. A very large bowl of premixed beverage was 10 yards away in lobby. Asked bartender about it. She icily said only she could serve it when she could get around to it.
This is not just some transient place off I-10. A very much higher standard of service is expected and deserved.

This in not even close to a 4 Star hotel. Shame on Renaissance for the false advertising of being 4 star. This hotel is very tired and needs massive investments to overhaul it. The rooms look like they have not been updated in 15-20 years. The sofa in our room had a tear in the fabric. The bathrooms are very old. For a property in a desert location where water is a concern, the toilets should be water efficient. They are not and require multiple flushes. The water has some kind of additive which makes it come out white verses being clear. The staff advised it should disappear after running the water for awhile, but it did not. There were corner wall frames in the hallway being held up with tape. The staff was friendly but inconsistent. The little "store" where you could buy water, juices and snacks was in a sad looking meeting room. One sign said the pool was open until 10, but another until 8. There are much better options in Palm Springs for similar prices.
