Hyatt Palm Springs garners mixed reviews, with its central location being a highlight for guests seeking proximity to local attractions. However, many visitors find that the hotel's atmosphere and rooms fall short of expectations, noting dated decor and a need for refurbishment.
While the spacious accommodations are a plus, travelers often mention noise disturbances and cleanliness issues. Despite the friendly staff, guests have called out high parking fees and underwhelming value, suggesting that the hotel could benefit from updated amenities and more attentive service.

Detailed Reviews
To be honest, I've always been hesitant about staying at this Hyatt location - although I'm a fan of the brand, this location always concerned me due to the proximity of downtown Palm Springs. Well after convincing from someone close to me, I decided to give it a try and I was absolutely pleased. The rooms are well insulated, cool, practically sound proofed and easy to get in and out of. The underground (think out of the intense heat and sun) parking with close proximity to Tesla SuperChargers was a slam dunk as well. The rooms itself were sanitized, kept clean and organized, still fresh from their last renovation. The rooms are suite like with a separated living room from the bedroom with a large bathroom in the middle. This is perhaps the best water pressure for toilets I've ever experienced and trust me that makes a difference and the hot water in the shower was plentiful and powerful. Good towels and linens and really appreciate the private balconies that overlook downtown or the more preferred mountain/golf course/pool in back. In room wifi was super fast. I didn't use the F&B or pool facilities due to covid, however I did enjoy the rest of the experience. I'll be back for sure if/when I want to stay in downtown and be surrounded by a bit less family which is what you'll experience at the resorts outside PS.

The common area of the hotel is poorly maintained. The rooms are nice, with all amenities described on their website, but also poorly maintained and not cleaned once during our stay. The views from the back balcony are spectacular; that made our stay worthwhile. This hotel is located on the main street in downtown Palm Springs so it was important to stay in a room with a balcony in the back; this provided a great view from the balcony and also protection from street noise. The pool is lovely, but not kept clean. Bikes w/ helmets are available at no charge, and the staffers who retrieved them quickly upon request were delightfully friendly. Check-in staff consisted of one very friendly young lady and one surly one. We got the surly one who made no effort to provide help in getting our luggage to our room. (No luggage carts, no bellmen.) There are 2 rapid fairly clean elevators, and one dingy and slow service-type elevator to which "surly" directed us; we only learned of the better elevator from another guest. The cost per night is slightly higher than other chain hotels in the downtown, and in our opinion is not worth the difference, especially for a guest who doesn't swim or bike.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. Walking distance from so many restaurants and bars, and attractions (and even hiking!). The lobby of the hotel is gorgeous. Very modern and displaying beautiful art...felt like an art gallery! The front desk staff was helpful and the bar near the pool area had reasonably priced drinks and good service. The pool area could use some upgrades. Given the temps in Palm Springs, having a nice pool is a must, and this one is just okay. It was also quite crowded and filled with children, so if you are looking for more of a poolside adult getaway, this might not be the place for you (had a bit of an Embassy Suites vibe). The rooms were quite spacious and also clean. The bathroom showed signs of wear, but nothing too bad. Parking is self-park, $18 per day, unlimited in and out privileges. It is less fancy than the Hyatts I've stayed at before, but still a really great time. We would stay here again given the location and the price point.

Hotel's Favourite
This is our go to hotel when we visit Palm Springs. You just absolutely cannot get a better location. The accommodations are always clean, the hotel is getting a bit aged though, but all in all, they keep it clean and provide nice big towels, comfortable pillows, good sheets. The wicker in the patio desperately needs to be replaced now. The views on both sides of hotel are incredible. Every Thursday night is the street fair right in front of the hotel which is always an added plus for things to do. Once we park, we never take the car out again until we have to leave.

The Hyatt Palm Springs is located at the very center of town and that location makes it very convenient not to use your car. However, the facilities themselves need considerable updating. Poorly working toilet facilities, a leaky tub faucet, and door jams that appear to have been pried off the wall distracted from an otherwise roomy and well appointed two room suite. The parking fee ($22) on top of the resort fee (+$30) was a bit much for what you get. Balcony lights stayed on all night necessitating the use of black-out drapes. Staff was pleasant, but ineffective at getting the job done.

The location is fantastic, however the brand its flying is not even close. This would be a low tier economy brand that needed repairs. Its very sad the ownership is exploiting a good location with high priced in a property that needs significant upgrading and cleaning.
There is little food, the bar was open 3 hours per day 5 pm to 8 pm one day, closed the next. The towels around the pool are bathroom hand towels to lay over the lounge chairs to soak up some sun. I asked for full size towels they told me they have none for the pool.
I consider this property a scam to fleece the unsuspecting public out of high room rates due to the location and when you arrive you find a filthy bathroom that nobody can hardly use, you would never take a bath, the shower was bad enough. I have photos of the bathtub.

Disappointed by the lack of COVID precautions. especially in a city with lots of elderly people.
The hotel is in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, walking distance to great shopping and restaurants.
Booked a getaway from the new normal to enjoy the sun. I hardly stay at Hyatt locations because I don't have status with the chain [usually Hilton because I'm a Diamond], but they match your M life status. The rooms are suite style with a sofa bed. A booked a room for 2 nights and got a room on the 6 th floor over looking the pool. The rooms have a window where anyone walking by can look inside to room which re minds me off a cheap motel or something. It was cute, but very outdated, the bathroom has pink titles and cheap feel to it [when you charge $250 a night it shouldn't be cheap].
Since we were traveling durning a pandemic I felt the hotel would have wipes and branded mask or a place for people to wear a mask , but that wasn't the case. Housekeeping isn't great, their were stains on the tube and stuff. I just ran hot walk to clean it. The water pressure is VERY VERY low. The bathroom had a light bulb that was out and the vent had dirt all over it, so I don't event think they clean anything. The couch had a hole in, the hotel is run down. Also the air conditioning makes a huge noise when you run it. It was a 122 deg so we ran it 24/7.
Let's talk about how dirty the pool is and the lack of social distance. Very inch of the pool was filled with people. The water was blue but their was hair and trash inside it. The first day went at 7 pm, day two at 1 pm and the stuff in the water was still there. No one cleans the pool so I jumped it and went right out.
Location is great but being in an pandemic and staying here I think I have to self isolate for 20 days. Very disappointed in the lack of safety measures in place durning this time. Not worth the $250 night rate, felt like a cheap motel with a brand name slayed on. If this what a Hyatt is branding then it's a joke.
Also if you don't tell the front desk you didn't park in self parking it will charge you $22 a day. Look around the area their a tons of street parking on the back of the hotel. Ice you need ice or anything it's all that front desk, which is usually staffed with one person. The hotel advertised a social hour from 4-5 pm for drinks as part of the resort fee but they don't host it anymore but still charge the fee. Also no gym or anything is opened. Stay at the Hilton or the Kipton, avoid this hotel.

This is not a resort. It is a hotel with a pool. Plain and simple. The service was poor, but that was mostly due to understaffing. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful when they could be found. They only had one person staffing front desk on the morning of a full hotel. The breakfast service was terrible with employees moving very slow and conversing with each other while guests waited for coffee. At nearly $300 per night (including taxes and "mandatory $22 per night resort fee") one would think they could at least provide parking instead of charging $27 per day. I found free parking on the street within a block, but worried somewhat about security. Nothing happened, however, and the area seemed safe. It wasn't all bad; the rooms are spacious and many have nice views of mountains and pool. The downtown location is inconvenient to shopping and restaurants.

It’s almost impossible to believe this is a Hyatt property. It is dilapidated, barely managed, and not particularly clean. To be fair, the location in downtown Palm Springs is convenient, and the desk staff were very apologetic teenagers who clearly had no training in hospitality and the whole place seemed understaffed. For a serious nightly cost, we had a so-called cabana suite which had a vinyl pull out twin bed couch with a terrible 3” mattress. The furniture was ratty and in poor repair. The walls and woodwork were damaged, unpainted and worn. The room wasn’t ready by 4pm check in and we were given excuses for almost an hour until I insisted someone actually check. Other travelers were having the same experience nearby. The hideaway bed was just this dingy bare mattress and I was told that the hotel does not make up the hideaway. We had to ask twice for them to give us sheets and a blanket so we could do it ourselves, and we had to do that at the front desk because the phones to the desk, housekeeping, and everywhere else just went unanswered when we called. The pool area was also ragged, with broken door, ancient dingy lounge chairs, ripped up cabana curtains and disintegrating surface around the pool. Wow, Hyatt. Just implode this old place like a Vegas strip casino and start over!

The bright-side to this hotel is the location!
However things go downhill from there. The rooms are large but OLD and not in a fun palm springs retro way, but a dirty stained rundown sort of old. The room we were in had dripping faucets (they had been dripping so long you could see the brown stains where the drips would land) As well the marble in the bathroom had dark stains in addition to the damaged finish. The lack of maintenance extended to the sitting area with large visible stains on the couch and the patio and patio furniture.
Some wear in the facilities can be overcome by staff and service, but again the hotel fell short. An empty pizza box from the first of a three night stay was still there when we checked out. I would have expected housekeeping to remove trash with daily service. As well the lobby staff was mostly quiet even upon arrival with three gentlemen by the valet podium and no other guests on the drive there was no greeting/welcome or offer for luggage assistance. This was the theme throughout our stay, if you interacted with the staff they were very nice, but only after you engaged.
This was my first trip to Palm Springs and while I enjoyed the location I would likely choose to walk a little farther for better service/quality of accommodation on a future visit.

No, I don't have it, but as with any hotel in the US, you can call the front desk or manager's office and ask for it.
Two separate rooms. The outer room has a sofa, coffee table, desk and TV. It has a large bathroom and an inner bedroom with bedside tables, dresser and TV. I would rank the suite as barely average. I will not stay there again. The hotel needs a major upgrade.
Yes plenty of street parking nearby and it’s free. I left my car there overnight and didn’t move it for the entire day and no problem
Good Day, a cabana suite is a suite on the first floor with easy access to the pool. It is a suite room, and has a cabana connected to the room for easy in and out to the pool deck. These are very popular during pool season.
