Nestled near scenic shores, Pacifica Beach Hotel captivates guests with its stunning ocean views and beach proximity, which are often the highlight of their stay. While the hotel's jacuzzis and overall cleanliness receive commendation, some visitors suggest that a refresh in decor and improved soundproofing could enhance the atmosphere. Although the service is generally praised for its cordiality, there are occasional calls for attention to service hiccups. Despite concerns about room upkeep and the value proposition, the hotel's location remains a popular draw, with easy access to local shopping and vistas.

I really loved the ground floor ocean view room king size bed that we booked. My favorite part was the Jacuzzi that was in between the bathroom in the living room. It really helped us warm up after being out on the beach in the evening and getting cold, I love that there was coffee at the reception desk. I really love the location of the indoor pool because of the amazing view of the beach from there I also especially enjoy the location being one block of walking from the beach immediately across the street actually. The microwave would turn on but didn’t actually heat the food in room 111 and there was a large dumpster right in front of the balcony that got removed the next day and around 8 o’clock at night there was an unusual noise that lasted about an hour. I will stay there again. We really had a great time, especially because of the location and the view from the room and the Jacuzzi.

The staff was warm with their greetings and just overall friendly. We could see the waves from our balcony. Parking was great and the location is a block away from a shopping center that has everything you need incase you forget something. We also enjoyed the Sunrise Cafe where I satisfied my pallet with a Cajun scramble and the Joe Special was well seasoned. Bottom line the hotel is a safe place to stay that is clean as well. Can’t wait till renovation is complete so I can enjoy the rest of the property.

Nice location. Decent (partially obstructed) view of shore. Pool was clean but cold. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. We were away one day and requested a clean while we were away. Staff left our door propped open and the bathroom light (with heat) on. When we returned back to our room around 9:30 pm, we found the room unsecured. Fortunately nothing was disturbed and nothing was missing

Amazing. This place is my new getaway favorite!!! I went on a Wednesday (Pacifica farmer's market day) alone for 1 night of R&R, and booked a full ocean view balcony king room for the very bargain-y price of $181 incl txas and fees. It was only $20 more than a partial ocean view withiut a balcony. What a well-spent $20!!!

Yes the hotel is run down, fine. Seeing as you're reading reviews, you're well aware. But if they renovate the property it won't cost $180 for a balcony ON the ocean! Half Moon Bay has plenty of oceanfront rooms with balconies for $300-450. Or $1000 at the Ritz. An oceanfront balcony for $180 is unheard of in the Bay Area.

There were several thoughtful touches to the room, Room 206, which I thoroughly recommend. The hot tub worked perfectly, there was seating on the balcony, the room had 2 trash cans, and they provided toilettries in the bathroom. They also served delicious coffee and Stash teas in the lobby with every choice of sugar/sweetener.

I'd recommend bringing your own
A) pillow(s)
B) surge protector as there's only 1 plug next to each side of the bed
C) yeti/coffee tumbler for bringing more than 10 oz of coffee to your room from the lobby if you want.

There's a stoplight in front of thr hotel to easily cross the 4 lane highway 1, and a waterfront multi use path that runs along the coast through most of Pacifica.

All the other hotels in Pacifica are a 25 min walk over a hill north of Pacifca Beach Hotel. By the other hotels there's a small coarse black sand beach. But at the Pacifica Beach Hotel you're squarely in front of a world class long, wide, sandy crescent beach. It is by far the best location of any Pacifica hotel, if you're coming to enjoy the Ocean.

While in town I thought highlights were
-The beach/waves/ocean
- Walking 25 min each way over the hill along the waterfront path to the Farmer's Market. The hill has STUNNING views of the coast and benches for enjoying.
- A sunset from the best Taco Bell location on earth. It's on the sand at the beach, has a deck with twinkle lights and they sell Lagunitas IPA, Corona and other beers plus spiked and virgin slushies.
- coffee on the balcony of the oceanfront room watching surfers and waves
- Breakfast from Soul Grind Coffee Roasters. Their quiche is insane! And their outdoor patio full of people.

And if you choose to book, have the best time ever!

I wish I would have done more research and read a few more reviews on this hotel before booking! I'm not sure what nicoll k is used to on prices but my room was $350 out the door and even for the Coast this is not cheap! A agree 100% with other reviews that the building desperately needs significant repairs and maintenance. The elevator was out still of order when I stayed there on July 12 which is unacceptable in today's world. There is significant wear and tear on the building inside and out but it was inside that concerned me, see photos. The building is old and probably constructed in the 1970s and judging from the decor most of it has been there since the 70's. One of the biggest issue I had was I called the front desk and asked "where is the ice machine"? and the clerk said "WE DON'T HAVE ONE"!!!! WHAT?? In my 60+ years on this earth I have NEVER stayed in a hotel (let alone a $350 hotel) that did not have an ice machine!? I found this unbelievable! The wall mounted hair dryer did not work but the front desk brought another, the coffee maker was a $5 Walmart version which fit with everything else, half of the outlets did not work. No breakfast whatsoever!! No banana, no apples, no donuts or even a cheap packaged danish!! The view is great but if you open the sliding door you feel like you're sitting in the middle of a freeway, you can't even hear the waves over the noise of the constant traffic on HWY 1......Enough said, save your money and stay somewhere else!

I've always wondered what it would be like to stay at the Pacific Beach Hotel, I finally decided to get accommodations for my husband and myself for his birthday. Even though the hotel was under construction for remodeling, along with a couple of minor issues, I feel that the staff members Miss Olivia in particular went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, to make us feel welcome and our business appreciated, and gave us the best recommendations of places to eat which by the way one of them was right next door at Playa 27 (Peruvian food). We had dinner there I had forgotten my credit card next thing you know I get a call from the front desk that they had walked it over and left it at the front office for me, due to the fact that we had received a 10% discount for staying at the hotel so they knew where to find us. Miss Olivia at the front desk had a personality that won us over immediately. The minor issues became irrelevant with her charming mannerism. Everything was understandable since it was under construction and we do believe that the place will be absolutely beautiful once the remodeling is done. We are truly looking forward to visiting again when it has its new look. They kept the construction down to decent hours. Even housekeeping was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had a beautiful ocean front view, and my husband said he had never had a birthday quite like this one. The serenity of leaving the sliding door open to our balcony and listening to the ocean as it put us to sleep at night was so relaxing. I really hope that Miss Olivia is still a part of the staff when we return AFTER the remodeling. If y'all have AAA or AARP, don't forget to mention it as you will receive an additional 10% discount which for us was nice as we are in our golden years! Oh and I have to mention the indoor pool overlooking the ocean.. just a suggestion to the hotel: if you crank up the heat just a notch that pool will be just perfect, and also maybe remodel one of the rooms in the pool area with Beach size towels for swimming purposes only, & spruce up the bathroom some of that wonderful lotion y'all give out and I believe it was lemon and eucalyptus... That would be a nice touch! Once again, looking forward to it next stay. So glad Miss Olivia talked us into staying as I nearly backed out once I found out that y'all were under construction, but as I said it was brief construction that we experienced and they were very quiet about what they did. Bit of an eyesore to see the furniture getting taken out that's understandable... Because we have full faith and confidence that it will look absolutely amazing afterwards!

The Pacific Beach Hotel is located in a beautiful area with a water view, but it's evident that the building needs significant repairs and maintenance. The elevator was out of order, and the visible wear and tear made the building appear to have been constructed in the 1970s or 1980s.

The service staff was friendly, but they felt they needed to be more welcome, and the location was remarkable. However, the hotel needs repairs and a lot of tender loving care (TLC). The caulking around the bathtub was haphazardly done, and the faucets needed to be fixed. The room was less clean than we would have liked, with carelessly placed linens in the bathroom. We even found dirt on our blanket and hair on some towels. The walls were old and in need of a fresh coat of paint. I tried to talk to the housekeeper lady in the hallway, but she didn't speak English. We went to the store to purchase Lyson for the room to spray.

The bed was extremely comfortable on the plus side, and my boyfriend and I enjoyed it. We love the jacuzzi inside the bedroom. We didn't like to have the preferred occupants in room 1309, who played loud music all night and created a lot of noise. My boyfriend had to leave the room at 2 am and ask them to quiet down because people were trying to sleep. Overall, this place is a 3, and I have no plans to return.

My husband and I are newly married and we had the honor of having Olivia take our reservations. She was friendly, hospitable and even surprised us by decorating our room with silk rose pedals and a swan 🦢 🌹 heart display! Wow! Despite the bathroom light bulbs burning out in one set, the side table lights not working nor the phone working, our stay was great! The rest of the staff was also very friendly and warm.

Yes there is a crosswalk across the highway. It is a very short walk to get to the beach, less than a block.
