We spent 4 nights at the Pacific Gardens Inn (PGI) this week on a reunion of sorts. Until last November we used to own a house nearby. For 13 years we spent almost every other weekend in Pacific Grove and in that time walked to Asilomar and Asilomar Beach hundreds of times. So our stay at PGI allowed us to...

A nice place. Rooms are good size with a wood burning fireplace. The hotel is a short walk to Asilomar Beach and the bay. Staff was nice with an above average continental breakfast and wine and cheese in the afternoon. Pacific Grove is a short drive to Carmel, Pt Lobos and Monterey.

We (my husband & I) really enjoyed our two stay at the Pacific Gardens Inn. The Inn, had a warm and homely feel, was well maintained and in a good location to explore the surrounding areas. Reception was located in a separate small lodge buildings, with all of the small room blocks (lodges) located around. The Inn also offered laundry...

First time at this hotel. We liked it just fine. Best attribute is the location. Quiet and reclusive. Just a block from Asilomar State Beach. Took the kids tide pools that were just ten minutes away...they loved it. Hotel itself was good. The rooms are no frills, but otherwise clean and spacious. Breakfast was good--waffles, bagels, and pastries mostly. And...

The inn is situated in a woodsy area across the street from Asilomar, a very short easy walkable distance to Monterey Bay and 17 Mile Drive. Easy driving access to Monterey sites, downtown Pacific Grove and Carmel too. Our room was spacious and clean with a wood burning fireplace, queen size comfortable bed, popcorn maker & fridge; included a light...

A quiet, clean and comfortable inn in quaint Pacific Grove. A nice option to crowded Carmel. The Asilomar Beach is ten star and in close walking distance. Pet friendly! Would definitely return to this establishment when in Carmel area. Many dining options are close by including a short drive to Monterey wharf for casual enjoyment of fresh fish.

I go to Pacific Grove frequently and have stayed at several properties here. I would rate this inn on the higher end of comparable, typical Pacific Grive motels. The location is terrific, a nice, woodsy area (almost feels like you are in the mountains) that is a short walk down to the incredible water views that face 17 Mile Drive....

We stayed (family plus dogs) at this inn a few years ago and were quite pleased with the facilities. I recently traveled alone to the area and stayed by myself and had a different experience. There are many positives about this property, in many ways offering more than similar properties in the area. When you arrive at the Inn, you...

As other reviews mention, the rooms are not terribly fancy or modern, but it is certainly clean, reasonably spacious and the staff are efficient and friendly. Our first night we were in a downstairs room and the noise transfer was really bad. We could hear the people upstairs open and close drawers, turn on taps, and go to the toilet....

If you want a quiet, affordable and charming place to stay during your trip to the Monterey/Pacific Grove/Carmel area, this is your place. Literally steps from stunning Asilomar Beach, an historic lighthouse, and beautiful Pacific Grove. The management is also extremely nice and helpful. Be sure to check with them about passes to the Aquarium. They also provide delicious Red's...
