The rooms are spread throughout several buildings in a large state park property on the beach. Rooms are rustic and the bathrooms are dated. But the ambiance, ocean views and boardwalks, fireplaces in some rooms, deer wandering on the property more than make up for that little deficit. Dining is available on the property, but that is mainly for attendees...

The rooms are very dated, no phones or tv's (fine with me). But, I was with my spouse attending a conference. In order for me to stay with him, I had to pay for all of my meals (nearly $700 for 4 days). When it's time for meals (with VERY restrictive times), they ring an old bell. As a friend...

I spent 4 nights here for a conference. The location is fantastic and the food was very good, but the rooms are seriously dated and had few amenities (no coffee!). You can hear people walking above on the 2nd floor and up the stairs next to our room. Water pressure is very weak and the furniture must be from the...

The place is beautiful but very spread out. Parking is a bit of a pain. There are no phones or TVs in the room which was fine but I think it would have been nice to know that going in. It is a very short walk to the beach which was great. The food was all fabulous and all of...

Whilst the 9yo was slightly horrified by the basic element to this kooky room, I was secretly delighted. Asilomar is a conference facility I think operated by the State Park, so that is exactly what you should expect. The Julia Morgan designed main buildings are delightful and as a lover of the Arts and Crafts movement I really enjoyed sitting...

This is a very interesting site; a conference center within a state park. It is an excellent ecotourism destination, with pine forest, sand dunes and ocean beaches right on the site or nearby. It is an excellent birding site. The rooms are large. The rooms and buildings are starting to show their age, with maintenance badly needed. There are food...

We spent Thanksgiving 2016 here with extended family. The guided walking tour was a new plus for us since our last visit. The kids loved movie night in the chapel/auditorium. Asilomar is such a beautiful and non-commercialized setting; an oasis in the midst of the tourist-filled Carmel and Monterey region. Meals were great, especially dinner, and we appreciated the food...

Asilomar has a great location for its reasonable rates. A short walk to the beach where you can see a great sunset or walk down to Spanish Bay. Inside the property are amazing meadows and forests--there is really nothing like it. Also pretty cool Julia Morgan architecture spread throughout in the older buildings. Rooms are pretty simple but clean. Buildings...

If only the hotel rooms and conference facilities were worthy of the beach and forest views and grounds, But they are budget at best. The food is adequate and plentiful. Given the expensive resorts and homes in the Carmel, Pacific Grove, Monterey area, Asilomar is the only affordable center for large meetings. Just be prepared for less than stellar facilities....

Asilomar is a state park run facility. If you bear this in mind, you won't be surprised that the rooms are bare bones, with no televisions. My room did come with a picture window that looked out over the cypress trees to the coastline and breakers, which was pretty nice. As with other "like" park facilities such as at Yosemite,...
