The Palms is a nice stop. Decent rooms, if you're not high maintenance, and the food was good enough to satisfy me (strawberry rhubarb pie was to die for.) I stayed here May 28-30, 2016. There was a very disturbing sound between 1:30-2am that was not far from our window. We were in room 5. I was still awake texting...

We stopped in for a late mid-week lunch while on our trip through the Redwoods. We had a burger and turkey BLT. Both where well prepared. They offered a Salad bar as an option to fries which was pretty good for this size place and a nice change. Nothing fancy but good food and good value for basic café fare.

I ordered the Hamburger steak with caramelized onions. Best choice I could have ever made. Don't even get me started on the pie. Fantastic ceases to describe how good this pie is. We got the chocolate cream pie and the whipped topping looked a bit overwhelming, but we later found it to be absolutely perfect. All of the pies are...

This place desperately needs renovating and rooms cost DOUBLE what they should given the deteriorating condition. I nearly cried, but it's the only option in the area. The guy at the front desk was very nice though & helped us with luggage & directions. The neighboring diner is good.

I really think that this place could use a face lift. The outside signs are falling off. The inside needs new counter chairs, carpet and tables. Other than the old feel of it the place seemed clean behind the counter. I was disappointed that the there was only soft serve. I would have liked a scoop of ice cream with...

My partner and I stayed here after hiking 12 miles. We were exhausted and had a room reserved, but after a second in our room we both wished we'd kept driving. The room smelled of strong room deodorizer trying to mask mold. The two bedside lights didn't work. The shower height was sized for a nine year old. There was...

Locally owned since the fifties; fresh food and daily specials; had several meals over several, days and all were good; daily homemade pies (the LEMON BLUEBERRY was fantastic); ask about the nations's flags hanging over the counter...each one has a story. The motel also very modest...quiet, clean, good mattress. The (indoor) pool was empty but cool...surrounded a by planters and barrels...

I enjoyed my breakfast at lunch at the Palm Cafe. The diner is a bit older and has the basic functionality. The waitress was welcoming and laid back. My pork chops and eggs were cooked the way I like them and the price was reasonable. The parking in angle in on the street and a bit limited. I liked the...

We were driving to the Humboldt Redwoods State Park and it got dark fast due to a storm. We were not planning on staying in Orick but there was no choice. Orick is small dying town in the middle of nowhere and the only thing available was the Palm Cafe & Motel which we enjoyed. The room was a run-of-the-mill...

This little place doesn't look like much from the outside, but everything we had was to die for. Chicken Fried Steak was delish. My son had breakfast for dinner and we we had the burgers too. The BEST part was the HOMEMADE PIES!!! I had the peach pie and my daughter had the lime. Both topped with homemade whipped cream....
