We asked for a room ,Tuesday night .
She gave us prices showed us one room which was a small loft $238… was not a room we liked ..
only other rooms she had were $375 ++
so we left a little disappointed !
We didn’t feel she wanted our business.. looked online they had villas” actually caravan park cabins”
quite nice available for $249 that she failed to mention…
so we got one of those ..
then afterwards I found the lovely rooms she had mentioned for $309 on booking. com
was so disappointed as that is a really good price & we would have booked it 🙁
Had been recommended here from my sister , she said food was great so I’m hoping that will make up for service so far ….
1st time we were met by the barman wearing a sequin mask with no hello or how are you… but show me you have checked in otherwise you can’t be in here. I showed him that I had checked in no thank you but “what do you want to drink” I walked for a whiskey Sour and with a roll of the eyes he made it - the glass was only 1/2 full and for $18 I would have expected a full glass?? Check out the Byron Bay hotel same drink $16 full glass! I then asked to see the menu and I got “no food now” I said ok what time does lunch finish to which he said “1”…. It was 2 mins to 1.
Two days later we went back again and met by the same barman saying “show Le you have checked in otherwise you won’t be served” I showed him and I then got “where is your mask” I said oh no I have left it on my caravan, do you have spare ones here otherwise it’s quite a big walk up and back and was a hot day - I got “thanks ok we are not closing for hours”… I walked back got my mask then headed back and ordered the whiskey sour again and was amazed that for $18 you actually only get 1/2 glass!
He once again rolled his eyes when I asked for this.
The good thing was we meant some lovely people who camps there every year and they said the food and service has never been great….. at least it wasn’t just us!

The ‘new’ renovations are fine but regrettably the heritage/character of the original building was covered with multiple coats off-white paint. My partner and I were here pre-Covid and we were so looking forward to this visit… but sadly now there’s no need for us to return
Having spent close to $100 on lunch we left dissatisfied and with a bad taste in our mouths. Its sad as this place has gigantic potential but the kitchen are letting it down. I dont think I have ever been so disappointed.
The food is worded and priced as a 5 star establishment but arrives at your table as a cheap pub style meal.
The salad is dressed with a bulk buy kraft italian dressing and the service is appalling, the waitress made an error then raised her voice at me in front of other diners when she stated she had repeated the order to me which she had entered an entree as an entree then the same dish also as a main meal.
The food is very bland and basic, for the location they should be able to source top quality fresh seafood, yet most seemed to be previously frozen.
Such a shame that the restaurant lets down this beautiful establishment.
If I was rating just the food it would be a 1 star.
