Historic hotel, expect historic features. Very interesting place to stay. Bed comfort was OK, not great. Room was extremely large with an eclectic collection of furnishings. Not the comfort of modern facilities, but with its own charm. I would recommend highly to someone who is in to historic hotels, which is not my favorite. I had a room near the...

The clerk at the front desk was extremely rude. She gave me directions four times on how to get to our room and I stil had no idea where to go. I was afraid to ask again. I ended up wandering around until a maid stopped us and gave us clearer directions. The room was not the one I had...

I can see why n Many people do not like this hotel but if you treat it as an interesting experience for a night it is a fun view into the old west. But some renovation would be good. We were welcome and loved the Jazz in the bar and the steak was good. We arrived very late but were...

We love this place despite having some flaws. We come every year for the constitutional day parade. Hoovers restaurant was excellent Chester who is 88 years old provided entertainment in the restaurant it was fantastic. The staff at the hotel and the restaurant were just great. Can't wait to come back again. The parade is outstanding also.

Stayed here last night, and loved it. If you're looking for something 5 star, this isn't the place for you. There is so much character and history bursting out of this place. There's so much to look at, and literally a piano around every corner. The women who assisted us at the front desk were helpful, courteous and gave us...

This hotel was such a disappointment. From the outside it looked like an old time authentic hotel. It was likely more authentic than we were hoping for. The carpets and wallpaper looked as if they have not been cleaned never mind changed since the 1800s. The room was overwhelmingly dusty with old fabrics and furniture, the AC didn't work properly,...

Thought it would be fun to stay at a historic hotel. No so fun at Nevada city's national hotel. We checked in and got a sweet facing the street. At first glance it looks old and quaint. The old furniture had a pulse tree that was Well worn there was wallpaper peeling off the walls and a few scattered dust...

First let me start by saying that I love Nevada City, I grew up here and raised my children here. Then I moved away. I thought I could come back to "My town" and have a warm welcome and a pleasant stay. I was wrong. I booked room 20 on purpose and when I checked in it was cold and...
