Didn't have too high hopes for this place.
We were pleasantly surprised by room, it was very clean and looked recently refurbished.
The soap and shampoo packet are basic, you get one toilet roll and toilet blocks easily. However bed was comfortable and the aircon worked and heir us cool, probably too cool at night as you only get one sheet and a throw which is as thin as paper.

Needles is one of the hottest places in the US and the ice machine wasn't working and looked like it hadn't been in a long while.
Also the pool which would have been inviting on a hot day (118 when we were there) looked like it had not been cleaned/services since the 70's a real shame.

Needles itself has seen better days, it's such a shame that the interstate has made old Route 66 places bankrupt but it is necessary for quick travel. Most of the places in the town are derelict even the wagon wheel shop is quite sorrowful.
Not a place we felt comfortable at night going to get bottled water.
With a bit of TLC, a working ice machine and pool and a little decoration (maybe Route 66 stylee?!) this place would be great and could maybe charge a bit more.

However for $44 you get what you pay for.

don't let the name of this motel fool you- it's a dumpy little motel in needles. i booked it on travelocity for $26 and thought i was getting a good deal. but there are many other motels in needles that advertise rates of $27. the first problem was that the motel had no record of my reservation through travelocity. it is right next to/under the interstate so there is lots of traffic noise. the bathroom was especially dumpy with poor plumbing. there was no microwave in the room as advertised. would not stay here again. there are plenty of other cheap places to choose from in needles including motel 6.

The one bed room we were given was clean and quite attractive for a budget motel. We looked forward to a good night's sleep after hours on the road. The group of 8 bikers who booked in had other ideas and the noise from their party went all night. The management seemed oblivious to what was happening. The office was locked and I would have been too scared to go out anyway! We had no phone number to ring as they don't have business cards. We finally dropped off to sleep at about 6 am only to be reawoken at 7.30 am when the bikers left! The management should have checked the surrounds before they went to bed and this situation could have been avoided. When spoken to in the morning a shrug and was told we just stayed on the wrong night. No genuine apology. Don't risk staying here.....it might be the wrong night!

Squalid deathtrap. No exaggeration. Knew something was off during checkin. After a long wait the owner checked me in using his paper ledger because the internet was down. He then walked me to the room and proceeded to demo the lights and TV, explaining that there was no light in the bathroom and that I'd have to drag a floor lamp across the room and position it close to the bathroom entry. It appeared one or more outlets were also out of commission because the appliances were hooked up to a single multi prong outlet adapter. Not a safe looking set up. I specifically requested a non-smoking room but was provided one that reeked like an old bowling alley. The shower had no hot water and no pressure. Curtains had visible holes. The two towels I was provided had permanent yellow and gray stains on them. Once I inspected the bed more closely, that's when I realized it was time to flee. There was no way I would sleep a wink under, on or anywhere near that filthy looking bedspread. I believe the owner is operating this place as a flophouse, renting rooms on a weekly basis to people who are down on their luck. I usually do my due diligence when selecting lodgings but boy did I mess this one up. $47 flushed down the crapper but now I’m in a clean safe room at the Days Inn just down the street. I fear for any hapless traveler who makes the mistake I did but can’t afford to flee elsewhere.

Place is totally sketchy and a dump. This needs to be sold, demolished and rebuilt. Nothing was clean, roaches everywhere. Shower curtain was probably the original one from 30 years ago and never washed. We booked two nights only stayed one we had to leave or the roaches would have feasted on us.

My husband and I recently made the decision to relocate out of state and to spend 2-3 days driving East on I-40 with our two dogs to our new home in TN. We spent one night identifying where we could stop for the night after driving for about 4-5 hours out of CA. Enter, Needles, CA. We researched available pet-friendly hotels through a never-to-be-used-again website claiming that we would be assigned a "doggy concierge" to ensure a smooth trip. This other website in the end, suggested Desert Mirage Inn and Suites and gave it a five bones rating. I was impressed by the ratings on this other site and so, booked a one-night stay. I now see that I should've done more research.

We arrived at Desert Mirage Inn and Suites in Needles CA at 11:45pm, rang the buzzer and out emerged a small little man with an accent. We also saw the sign that others mentioned in other reviews: no drugs, no fighting, etc hand written and taped to the wall behind him. It was literally like a movie. He said, "You woke me up!" and asked for my ID.

After he checked us in he pointed to my husband to get in the car and said something about me and him walking over to the room. I am ashamed to admit, my gut was telling me to run. But it was almost midnight, we were tired and we just needed a rest for us and our dogs.

He let us in the room with the "big, big TV!" My husband noticed the plexiglass windows. The small man pointed out that there was no sink faucets and that we could brush our teeth in the bathtub. I couldn't see how I would be able to take off my shoes. Again, I ignored my gut. Even our two dogs seemed to be concerned about a spot by the bathroom because they kept sniffing it. Yuk.

The towels were thread bare, cigarettes on the comforter, dirty pillows (I had my own) and the bathtub looked like it had not been cleaned.

It was seriously like out of a movie. My husband said he kept himself wrapped around me all night because he kept hearing people outside our plexiglass windows. The next morning, he was approached by homeless people. We walked our dogs in the hotel mud (advertised as green grass on the fake website) and never looked back.

Never never stay in this hotel. And like us, Let's Never Talk About This Again.

This hotel is a nightmare. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

I was ready to enjoy a relaxing weekend with my family and friends down on the Colorado River and booked a room at this hotel....what I now call the slumdog millionaire hotel. We had looked at the website for Desert Mirage Inn & suites and thought WOW what a great hotel with even better prices, just look at that beautiful pool, and the rooms have just been refurbished. So we booked our stay thru Expedia who assured us that the hotel could accomodate all 6 of us in one room. They advertise suites after all. As the trip grew closer I called to confirm our rooms and make sure they had us down for roll away beds as requested. They had no roll away beds to offer and no suites that would accomodate 6 people. They then gave us two rooms for the same price. When we arrived the lobby stunk of curry, the A/C was off (110 outside) and there were bugs everywhere dead and alive. I get my room key, go to my room and discover that the pool is green and has a health notice posted on the gate. We get to our room and discovered that it is filthy, has bugs and the tub was so gross we had to shower with shoes on. Next, the sink fell out of the counter and onto the floor spilling a basinful of water onto the already disgusting carpet. Then the toilet paper roll apparatus fell off the wall dropping our only roll of TP on the bug ridden dirty bathroom floor. The manager said he would move us to a different room in the morning. Then the manager tells us that he will be shutting the water off to the entire building from 1130 pm to 8am the next day. It was already 1130 pm. When the water finally came back on it was thick black and sludgy, we had to brush our teeth with bottled water and shower in the public restrooms at the river. What had we paid a hotel for? We then demanded a refund of our money and the manager got belligerant and only refunded the money when threatened with the health department and the better business bureau. Run as far and as fast as you can if this hotel comes up in your quest for a place to stay in Needles CA

Everything is trashy, Internet is not working at all, rooms fornitures are quite good but dirty. The motel position is awful, under the highway. No pool. Personal which barely speak...english.
Not that much to say to complete the review: stay away from it.

It's a fine little spot. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well outfitted. Far superior to the national chain motels. I stayed on a Friday night and there were no problems. Quiet and charming, with a wonderful staff. I'd stay again

The room looked fine until we went into the bathroom. Cockroaches in the bath.....we then opened the fridge (it was off) and out from underneath scuttled at least a dozen more cockroaches in varying sizes. The bed was fine and the location quiet.....however this has to be one of our worst ever experiences.
