Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place, pretty beaches, lots of boat slips available, cool rental house units along with RV park. We bought lots of souvenirs at the gift shop. Went to the bar, sat beach side ordered nachos that looked terrific however upon delivery told no guac & completely out of sour cream. It would have been nice to know when ordered, we sent them back finished our drinks & moved on. They are remodeling restaurant, bathrooms closed & short items on menu.

We have come to Pirates Cove on many occasions. We have rented the cabin twice and trailers three times. We have always had a great time. My only complaint would be that when we stayed in the cabin I found a dead small roach next to the toilet down stairs. And now we just stayed in the trailers this past week and never before but this trip, found a roach in the silverware drawer and when we returned home I made my family leave everything in the driveway to shake out and check. We came across one more live roach in my daughters suitcase. This is one thing I can't tolerate and don't want to bring home to my house. Maybe they need to fumigate the cabins and trailers regularly to prevent it getting worse. I may just rent something next time and drive it out. One thing I really appreciated for the first time was our trailer was completely set up with the air and refrigerator turned on and cold before we arrived. Very helpful to move everything right in. We ate at the restaurant (7-31-14) and my food was great. I had a club sandwich. However the drinks I ordered I think they forgot to include any alcohol. Others had burgers under cooked and also over cooked. The guy walking around with the silverware (maybe the dishwasher?) Had a towel thrown over his shoulder and when walking around and into the kitchen would wipe it across his forehead and proceed to throw it over his shoulder. Ewwww.....even though we have had a great time always, I think there are a few areas that can be improved if they want people to continue coming. :)

1st stay at this place and will definitely go back. Pirate theme zip line and "playground" but they were closed for the (summer) season. There is a restaurant on the premises, but we did not eat there so I cannot comment on that. There is also a "store" which has basic necessities.

Let me first start to try to describe the marina cabin we stayed in. Each cabin sleeps 6. Outside there is a propane bbq (propane included) and a table with 6 chairs. Ceiling fan also. Awesome decking and just very clean. Inside there is a small living room that has 1 chair, 1 sleeper sofa, coffee table and a wall mounted big screen tv with dvd & directv. The kitchen is fully stocked for 6 people (even bbq utensils included). The only thing was there was no sponge for dishes (they did have dish soap) and only 1 thing for the dishwasher. There is a stove and microwave. The fridge also has an ice dispenser :)

SLEEPING: the downstairs sleeper couch absolutely sucked which is why I only gave it 4 stars. I laid on it and immediately felt the metal coils. My son slept on the couch all 3 nights. The 2nd night my 11 year old slept on the couch pillows on top of the mattress but that was awful as well. The downstairs back bedroom is COLD. The house thermostat has to stay at 74 per their regulations (so it doesn't freeze up). The back bedroom felt really cold. There is a closet, 2 nightstands (2 drawers each), alarm clock, smaller wall mounted tv, built in dresser and some more storage above the "dresser." The last bedroom is upstairs. There is a curtain that you can close so that you cannot see upstairs. There is a dresser and a nightstand. The tv is in a wall cabinet. All 3 beds are queens. There is extra blanket and pillows in the closets. Beds were comfortable with soft, crisp sheets.

BATHROOMS: There are 2 of them. The downstairs one has 1 sink, 1 toilet and 1 shower. Water does not get very warm, so if you want a warm shower, go upstairs. Very clean. The upstairs bathroom has 2 sinks, a separate toilet (with door) and a shower with a glass door. You have to let the water run for about 5 minutes before it actually warms up, but then it is lovely. Each has its own blow-dryer and towels.

CAUTION: The stairs are narrow and a bit steep. If you have bad knees or have issues with stairs, take the downstairs bedroom.

There is a balcony off the upstairs bedroom and as I mentioned the ground floor has a deck which gives you a beautiful view of the river.

They have slips for your boats, but even though most were empty, the slips in front of the cabins are not for rent, so we had to walk a bit to our slip. You are allowed 2 vehicles per cabin. There is a separate trailer parking area. You can NOT park your boat by the cabins.

One issue: I tried to call someone and could not reach ANYONE!!!!

The cabin has a tropical theme but clean and simple. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our keys did not work so we drove back to the office and luckily caught the lady as the office had just closed. She drove to the cabin in her Polaris and re-keyed it.

Living in San Diego, it took us around 6 hours to get there, but the resort is fantastic. We are planning to go back next summer.

This place has been taken over by greed and a total disregard for local business families…. $35 just to launch your boat. They let anyone drop empty trailers in their parking lot instead of taking them to their camp area. It is often time dirty and trash bins stay full for days on end. To bad it used to be a great place for EVERYONE…. They are now charging $35 to park your boat on the beach if you drive it in! Total Rip off!

Going to Pirate Cove was the best. The river has very fresh water and since it was so hot over there, it was worth swimming in the water. Also the cabins are awesome. Except for the fact the air conditioner wasn’t working, other than that Pirate Cove gave me and my family a fun family vacation 😁

Marissa Curtis and her Team were FANTASTIC! Their service and gracious hospitality will definitely bring us back. Despite the virus-related issues, the facilities accessible and clean. We would highly recommend a holiday stay here.

Last minute plans to take our family on a trip led us to Pirate Cove Resort. We took our kids and dogs here for the and had a great time at the cabin. The beach was so amazing we didn't want to leave. Everything was so clean and the staff were very helpful. Our family will be planning another trip soon!

After touring Western USA with an RV (camper) for 14 days we ended up at the Pirate Cove. Check-in was not overly friendly. Had to sign waivers for just about everything, including snakes, scorpions and spiders. When we arrived with our 30 ft RV at location 6D, there were already 3 campers there, including 2 speedboats. The other "guests" appeared to be family and behaved loud with music and disco lights, including alcohol abuse and loud talk/singing. This went on the whole evening, even after "quiet hours". No sign of park security. RV locations are very remote from the office, have no internet or cable TV and out of reach of phone service. My wife was scared of the situation and we decided to check out the next morning and file a complaint. Office attendant did not seriously recognize our complaint and refused a refund for the early leave. Furthermore no conveniences near RV parking apart from toilets. For a lift to the showers you have to call half an hour in advance. RV parking places have no privacy and are not well maintaned. The attractions at Pirate Cove were out of order. Instead of Pirate Cove I would recommend the KOA RV in Needles.

Fire them all!
My 3 year old daughter now says ass and f**k after that trashy unprofessional model Lorraine was speaking around us.
I will never be back!
Clearly getting pretty girls with foul mouths was the goal.

Booked stay 5+ months in advance, we really looked forward to coming to the place for awhile. We arrived at night so we didn’t see much. Next morning, the kids and I walked around the facility. Nothing special, the restaurant had a very limited menu and nothing my kids would eat. The general store had hardly any food. We ended up driving to Needles to eat out one night. Trails were OK, not great, but pretty boring by the 2nd day.
