We stayed here to get away from the smoke in the bay area during the Camp Fire. For the great rate, I was just expecting a typical motor lodge situation, however the Inn end up having it’s own restaurant with a great view and it was reasonably price for a full service experience.

Nothing fancy but very reasonable and rooms are large and nicely appointed. Staff is great. Patio and pool and jacuzzi are great. It's right on the water with beautifu views and it is dog friendly. I would definitely come back here.

Morro Bay is a beautiful working seaport town. From this inn, you can walk to town. It's a sweet, small town with a beautiful view of the ocean. There's a boardwalk along the ocean nearby. There are several good restaurants. We stayed here because the Hearst Castle is not far awa

My husband and I were looking forward to staying at the Inn. We had stayed there for one night 28 years ago. We paid for a bay view room. When we arrived we were pleased that we could check in early and were told that our room was ready. We went to the room (#504) and realize

How far is the beach? We like to walk barefoot along the water
You have to understand this hotel sits on the water of a bay/estuary. If you want to walk on a beach that faces the ocean, you are either going to have to take a boat/kayak or paddle board across the bay to the other side. Or you can take Los Valley Road which turns into Pecho Valley a Road to Sea Wind Way, and walk up and over the sand dune to the beach on the other side.

I would like to know if beds are comfy as w have bad backs and will be driving all day need good support but also soft not hard mattress. also how far to Hearst Castle
Like Auntie said, go to Sebastian's. It's also the tasting room for Hearst Ranch Winery. But to diverge, the most popular tours have more people, one time we took the kitchen tour and there were only three of us, so it was much more personal. But everyone has their own interests (it's all pretty interesting either way). I found their beds to be quite comfy and I am picky. They've got the nice duvets and feather pillows (?fake feathers?)

We are staying 3 nights beginning of April, will renovations be done by then? The place looks great but all the reviews talk about how outdated it is?
They are not renovating all rooms at one time... ask for a room away from the renovations.... We were in the 500 building, it was nice fronting the estuary....

Do you have weight restrictions for Dogs?
They do not - in fact, I travel almost everywhere with my lab, and the Inn has the most laid back pet policy I have ever experienced. You will be pleased!
