We chose this hotel based on it's rating and we were sadly disappointed. We booked a family room with the bunkbeds to accomodate our teens. When we entered the room we were surprised at how small it was, the bathroom was tiny and the bunk room was not much larger than a closet There was no air conditioning ,which we...

I was disappointed with the Lodge, escpecially in light of the reviews and it's #1 popularity position at TripAdvisor. I did not think it was a good value, not worth $200 at all. The room was a smallish, very standard motel room. The shower stall was very small. There is no A/C, although I don't know if you need it...

Spent our 17th anniversary here and really enjoyed it. The box of chocolates, a big box, started things out right when we walked in the room. The King Bed, the easy to switch on Gas fireplace, the down comforter really added to the mood. Walked to Cannery Row and enjoyed the evening tasting wine, looking out on the bay, and...

This is a nice family motel. the staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful.. The room was not massive but the children enjoyed sleeping in their own little room although it was a bit tiny. The front desk lent them games for the Nintendo which was a nice touch. This is not a luxury hotel by any means...

The hotel was okay - it smelled a bit musty and the room was much smaller than it appeared on the Website. On the good side, it was relatively quiet. I did not think it was worth $200/night. Make sure to avoid the breakfast at Marilyn's next door - pretty terrible food. Our biggest problem was the unprofessional staff -...

The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. We found there was a lot of noise in the night from cars, sea lions, planes, garbage truck (5 AM), but not from the hotel guests. The breakfast at the hotel was good. I would probably stay at a hotel closer to the aquarium next time. We walked from...

When I came to write this review I had to double check that I was commenting on the right place. The MBL was no more than adequate. We had a 'family room' and the kids were looking forward to using the bunk beds. In fact this was a small room with another smaller room attached, and no aircon. It wasn't...

My boyfriend and I recently returned from a camping/hotel trip to Big Sur and Monterey. The MBL was a great place to come to after a few days camping in the woods! We arrived at noon (check in was at 3) looking rather scruffy from our trip and in need of showers, and sure enough, our room was already available....

Monterey Bay Lodge is a great value. Good location, clean rooms, nice staff, quiet. Nice pseudo- French Country decor. Having grown up on the Peninsula, I find it hard to justify the high prices when I am going back for family visits. But, I am still picky and was disappointed in the many run down and musty motels on Munras....

This was our second stay and we loved it. We had the king room with fireplace and air conditioning. Luckily this year the temperature was perfect (last year they had an unusual heat wave) and we didn't need the air, one night was chilly enough to use the fireplace for a bit. The room was cute and very clean and...
