My wife and I just got home from a fantastic weekend visit with innkeepers of 35 years, Emily and Raymond. They pay attention to every detail to make your stay memorable, delicious and fun. The rooms are large and spacious the breakfasts were four course masterpieces. We had a ball staying late at the breakfast table and talking with the...

We stayed with another couple for one night. We arrived early without notification and were greeted as warmly as if we had arrived when expected. Afternoon tea was a wonderful event - Emily even made gluten-free cookies to accommodate one of our party who is gluten-intolerant. Breakfast was delicious. We had a wonderful time talking with both hosts and particularly...

We stayed in the Lascaux room which was comfortable. The shower was nice and everything was very clean. The tasty breakfast is home-made and different every day. The b&b is very close to SFO airport. Emily and Raymond are warm hosts with a great sense of humor.

From first contact to checking out the owners of the Goose & Turrets couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. When we arrived after an exhausting journey we were welcomed with refreshing drinks and snacks and sent straight to bed even though it was the middle of the day. Both rooms we stayed in were comfortable, spotless and airy. The...

Great place for a get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Emily and Raymond are great people that want only to share their life and experiences of simpler times and long forgotten ways. The Hummingbird Suite was a great peaceful space. Breakfast was a wonderful suprise and welcomed break from the usual grab 'n' go. Wonderfully presented and...

Now that our vacation has finished I wanted to let you know how disappointed we were with our stay on the 13th. I largely chose your establishment based on reviews from google, trip adviser and hotels.com. While I am perfectly at home with an old historic setting I was not happy with the condition of our room. Let me explain....

Marc: I am sorry you were so disappointed in your stay at Goose & Turrets. If you had mentioned any of the problems when you were here, we would have happily given you a different room. No, I am not going to refund your money, as you suggested, just to keep you from writing bad reviews. Has this ploy worked...

We were greeted by Emily and Raymond and treated like friends from arrival to departure. Breakfast, which Emily makes different each day was fantastic with lots of special touches. Ours was followed by Marion berries in brandy! We loved the aviation memorabilia in the Clipper room. It also included a great bed and a comfy lounge chair. Although we didn't...

Goose & Turrets is one of the nicest B&Bs we have stayed at in our world travels! The building is an 107-year old red wood house surrounded by gardens and hedges and filled with interesting memorabilia that the owners, Raymond and Emily, have picked up all over the world. Each room has a theme: hummingbirds, air travel, cave art and...

My husband and I stayed for one night in October during a walking trip from San Francisco to Half Moon Bay. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Goose & Turrets is an old-fashioned B&B where you are pampered with comfortable beds and generous four-course breakfasts. There is also an afternoon tea of freshly brewed teas from around the world accompanied by savouries and sweets - in a setting of lively conversation. The house was built in 1907 as a grocery, post office, and town hall. After its long and checkered history, the Hoche-Mongs converted it into a bed and breakfast in 1983 and have been welcoming happy guests ever since. It sits in an acre of gardens which contains an Appalachian courting swing, two hammocks, and a bocce ball pitch. Montara Beach is a half-mile walk away as is a terrific Peruvian restaurant with a huge view. Nearby one may fish, kayak, go whale watching, aero-sightseeing, beach combing, hiking, biking, antiquing, shopping in quaint stores at Princeton Harbor and in Half Moon Bay, explore Montara Mountain or go down the coast to Pescadero's famous restaurant and market or continue to Año Nuevo to encounter mammoth elephant seals. On a foggy day, you may choose to just sit by the fire and read and listen to classical music. It's a good place for adventure and for complete lethargy. ... more   less

“Both owners are pilots. Ask about their travels and they will have wonderful tales to tell. It's such a treat to get away from the hurly-burly of high-tech life. We loved the Demetra Room, with its garden door that opens to the back patio, but it doesn't have a tub.”
