It rained while I was there. Couldn't seem to get the room to warm up. I guess the heater doesn't go up a whole lot. I think they wash their own towels rather having a professional laundry business do it for them because their towels were heavily stained. Food from the previous visitors left food in the microwave and crumbs...

A good experience - pleasant, friendly service; we didn't reserve online, so we got quoted $50 for a room, compared to over $60 online. Clean rooms (we rented two single rooms, both without problems).

This is a much older property which is very well maintained for its age. Just passing through Merced and wanting something cheap, I picked the San Joaquin. Most of the cut rate motels in Merced are in sketchier parts of town. The railroad tracks parallel 16th where this one is found. I was only awakened once during the night by...

First, about the trip: This was a Yosemite trip. But I found out one critical thing -- that driving back and forth from merced took like 4-5 hours of our supposed Yosemite vacation.
