We booked a "luxury" garden room for the middle of the week through groupon for $99.00, the room was normally $325.00. The pros.... a large room conveniently located in the heart of the town of Mendocino. The cons......hard uncomfortable bed, with holes in the blankets and bedspread, the bathroom was in need of maintenance.... peeling paint, broken bathroom fixtures, the marble...

The hotel has history, great service and a spectaculor location. Perched above the postcard view of the headlands, its peaceful and quiet. Lovely bar, fireplace in the room and a lovely garden, we found it very appealing.

My wife and I enjoyed a 2 night stay at this lovely seaside hotel through a special deal on Travelzoo. The accommodations were outstanding, and the staff were excellent. This lovely hotel, first established in 1898 (I think), is located along the main street of Mendocino, and we were able to enjoy beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean from the...

We chose the Mendocino Hotel because of a great voucher deal - a Garden Room or Luxury Garden Room for two nights, plus a bottle of wine and a cheese plate, for less than half the full nightly rate for a room. If you can get a similar deal, this place is worth checking out. But go in with your...

Went in to check the rooms before buying. All the rooms we saw had a musky odor and we felt the value was not there for the price they were asking. The staff also did not make a friendly impression. We found better elsewhere.

All comments from our guests or prospective guests are important to us. We realize that during these cold winter months our rooms are not used as often and can possibly be musty when opened. This guest's comments have encouraged us to do an airing out of rooms by rotation during quiet times thus to prevent any issues for our guests...

This was not my first stay at the Mendocino Hotel and I continue to be impressed with the quality of the renovation they have done to this old and historic building. Our visit was during a "California cold snap" which means the temp only reached the mid-50's, and the hotel lobby with its welcoming fireplace seemed like the heart of...

Complementary postings always warm our hearts here at the Mendocino Hotel. Our staff tries hard to ensure that all of our guests have a wonderful time in a comfortable setting. Repeat visitors let us know that we are on track with providing excellent service.

We stay in a garden room. First, the shower had a hair in it and the comforter had stains on it. Second, the bed was so uncomfortable that after tossing and turning all night we got up at 3:30 and left. Finally, the room was very out dated. When we checked out the front desk guy told us that it...

I booked it from hotel.com, the price was not any less. Got a Eurpoean style room for $160. After reaching there we found out that there is a shared bathroom. room size was the size of my kitchen at home. Shady room. The only thing I liked was view from the common patio in the morning. I would prefer a...

Spent the night at this historic hotel, had a great dinner in the dining room and enjoyed the ocean view from the upper balcony. The room was a little noisy while the dining room was open as it was above the kitchen. Once the dining room closed it was quiet and by propping the door open we could hear the...

We visit the Mendocino Coast fairly regularly and have often popped into the Mendocino Hotel for some great clam chowder and coastal views while warming up. This time we did a quick mid-week trip to the coast during the holidays and thought we'd stay at the property. The staff and service were great. The lobby is a very charming Victorian...
