This was our second visit after staying here 8 years ago. Both times we have used this place as a launching point for Yosemite Valley (~1 Hr. drive). It is also close to the quaint old western town of Mariposa. The B&B is picturesque, inside and outside, and very clean. The owner Mary Ellen is a sweetheart and quite gracious....

We stayed in the Iris room, with private roof deck access... a quaint, lovely, and quiet room. Mary Ellen and Dan (mother and son) are very gracious, thoughtful, friendly, and generous, owner/operator, hosts. The full breakfast was excellent, fresh juices, freshly brewed coffee, pancakes, bacon, cut fruit plate, and egg on request. Very nice all around.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Yosemite. Mary Ellen and her family are so kind and friendly it was like staying with family. The breakfasts were gourmet like croissant french toast! There was a bottle of wine and cheese plate in the evening. We took advantage of the hot tub and gorgeous landscape. This is truly a one...

Wonderful location outside the industrial vacations inside Yosemite and next to the cozy of Mariposa. And Mary Ellen made me feel right at home. I want to go back around a holiday to meet her whole family.

We came to the Yosemite park area one day after Labors day weekend. We were Mary Ellen's only guests. Originally we thought of staying one or two nights but stayed in the end for 3 and if we didn't have to get back- we would probably stay for ever. This was the only down side of the place- we didn't...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Poppy Hill in August for two nights to visit Yosemite National Park, and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! We didn't arrive until late at night, so Mary Ellen had gone to bed, but she left several lights on for us with a wonderful spread of welcome treats, including tea, wine,...

This place is one of the most peaceful places on earth. We loved the breakfast and spend lots of hours sitting in the beautiful garden to relax. The only downside: A bit more than an hour away from the hikes that start in Yosemite Village. All in all, it's the perfect place for couples to get a few days of...

We stayed at the Poppy Hill Bed and Breakfast for one night, on our way to Yosemite. Mary Ellen was a fantastic host. She offered menus for several great restaurants in town, and even offered to make reservations for us! The rooms were immaculate. The views were spectacular, and we even saw some wandering turkeys around dinner time. We plan...

We had planned our trip in September 2013 a year in advance but because of the fires had to reschedule at short notice to Poppy Hill. What a friendly welcome we got from Mary Ellen. We had a lovely room with a nice veranda from where we watched the deer & the wild turkeys & enjoyed in the evenings "...

This place is a gem! Absolutely gorgeous house with a beautiful view on the forest. My boyfriend got sold on the home made cookies and hearty breakfast, me - on the warm and homey atmosphere. Mary Ellen and Kim made our stay so comfortable and made us feel at home. Unbelievable attention to detail - from little "kisses" by the...
