Perfect location, a stone's throw away from Venice Beach. Lovely rooms and decor. Beautiful and polite service all around. The only slight downside is the breakfast selection which is slightly limited but still perfectly good. All in all, a perfect boutique hotel for both business travellers and getaway seekers.

My two teenage boys and I just stayed here for 4 days. It was great! We all loved the "hipster" decor, but most important was the service. All was wonderful starting with the free breakfasts, to the valets, to the front desk and other employees. Everyone was friendly, very helpful etc. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to...

This is a nice place to stay if you are looking for no frills. Quaint rooms, free breakfast and a nice staff. My only complaint is the $25 a day valet fee. We loved the bike rentals but $25/day seems a bit off price point to me as well. Overall nice experience and a short ride down to the beach.

Stayed here one night on business. Great location, a mile from Venice Beach, easy 20-minute walk. Doesn't look like much from outside, but it's clearly been renovated recently inside in a modern style. Room was very good. Comfortable bed, good towels and high quality shampoo/conditioner/body wash from C.O. Bigelow. Free wifi. Didn't get up early enough for breakfast, but there...

It is amazing what some bright colors and retro design furniture can do. I believe this is an old Holiday Inn Express that have been updated - and it works. Staff are nice and welcoming, very helpfull in directions and service. Breakfast is what it is, nothing special, but accomodates your need. The pool well it is there but dont...

Very Nice hotel. Fantastic deco, renovated few months ago. With beautyful murals made by talented L.A artist Robert Vargas. The rooms are really confortable, modern and cosy. Well located, with many restaurants around. Very nice staff. The only thing is breakfast could be better. But it's a great experience, and might really cool in summer time with patio bar.

Dear Julien F, Thank you for your review and feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed the new décor. Our very own Robert Vargas is back again with a new mural that he has just started. We are planning to upgrade our breakfast items and also getting ready to launch our new BYOB bar in our courtyard area. We hope...

I was happy to get a suite, as I needed two rooms, and renting two separate rooms can be prohibitive. Mattress was super comfy. This is an old motel, refurbished with nice new paint, wallpaper, furniture, fixtures, carpeting, murals, etc. Clean and well-done, interesting offbeat modern decor. Basic complimentary hotel breakfast. Old elevator, and every room door opens to outdoors,...

Water and cookies upon arrival. Plenty of valet parking with in and out privileges. The decor of the hotel is very hipster , like 70s cool. The room was clean and new and breakfast was good and included. 1 mile from the boardwalk, walking distance to food and shops. I stayed in a city view and the traffic news was...

I had Just one day in LA so chose this hotel as I did not want to rent a car or stay by airport . I arrived after midnight and took an Uber for under $20. The room was bright and cheerful so a nice oasis after a long flight . The decor is funky retro, fun. The hotel is...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
