Worst hotel ever. Compares poorly to budget hotels in India. Amenities include earplugs, shampoo, soap. Earplugs are most important because the hotels has no soundproofing and it sits right on Pacific Coast Highway - think all night activity including Harleys. The conversations and athletics in adjoining rooms above and next door were very loud. There are no rugs and the...

What a dump. The property is a 50s-style motel with very few upgrades. For example, an attempt had been made to upgrade the bathroom by tiling the shower but the mold on the grout looked original. Our room was sparsely furnished with 1 chair and a tiny stained table. I guess the second person needing a seat could sit on...

My husband and I were driving down the coast from San Francisco to LA, so we decided to rent a room at this hotel. We were not disappointed! No issues with check-in and staff were very friendly and helpful. The price was decent for the location compared to other hotels we looked at. Our room was very clean! The bed...

Malibu is no longer brimming with affordable places to stay. It's easy to drop a lot of coin to stay in this town for a weekend, especially if you want to be right on the beach. The M is as close to an affordable place as I've found, and while it's across the (busy) Highway 1 from the ocean, you...

I stayed at the M for a night in December 2016 and the accommodation was absolutely fine. Disappointed with staff, I left a necklace which they found. Once found, I asked if they were able to send it in an envelope via post and charge all costs to my credit card on account. They said no problem. I had to...

I love this place. The location is great. In the heart of Malibu, best hotel under $250. But the staff makes this place. Karen at the front desk is fantastic. Charming, nice this is what hotel service is supposed to be like. Thanks for making my stay so enjoyable.

Nice location, close to easy eating and several beaches. Dog friendly, simple rooms, contrary to other reviews, our room had AC/Heat/Fan. Place was clean, affordable and what we expected. Only negative I can add is that bed and pillows were a bit springy for my liking and yes the traffic noise... All in all, a non pretentious, affordable little gem...

My husband, 10 year old daughter & I stayed one night in room 301 (back of the hotel, top floor). The PCH noise was only an issue if we had the front door or the sliding glass door open. Otherwise, we slept fine, except our biggest complaint is the bed, it works for a night but I don't think we...

We were looking for one night in Malibu as we had dinner plans at Nobu and thought it would be easy to stay nearby. This hotel is walking distance to Nobu and the exquisite Malibu coastline but nothing else about it is good. We arrived early and, fair enough, at noon the room wasn't ready. The receptionist bizarrely gave us...
