I stayed for 3 nights at the Beverly Laurel as a solo female traveller from 3-5 May and I loved it!! I was a bit nervous staying in LA on my own as I had heard parts were unsafe, and was also concerned about cost as LA doesn't seem to have many budget options. Staying at the Beverly Laurel I...

This hotel is great fun. The Swingers Diner next door is so good. This is what a budget hotel in LA should be.

We stayed three nights and found the management and staff to be extremely helpful and/or friendly. The pool looked very clean and inviting. No facility for making a cup of tea/coffee etc but the Swingers Diner is next door and open long hours. Furthermore, the Swingers Diner is a must do - atmosphere, service, food and staff all received a...

Great hotel in a great part of town.Built in 1964 this is the apitomy of cool American Motels, basic on the outside but cosy on the inside. For the money this really is a steal for the West Hollywood location. Situated on Beverly Blvd its a 10min walk to the Grove and Farmers market and a $10 cab ride to the...

Went down to LA for a taping of American Idol (don't judge me -- it was fun!) and remembered the Beverly Laurel from 20 years ago, when it was slightly on the grungy side but had that mid-century LA thing going for it that made it cool. Plus it was cheap and the restaurant downstairs was great. Nothing's changed! Well,...

If you're from out of town and you need a cost effective and adequate hotel centrally located to CBS, Hollywood, Universal Studios, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, restaurants within walking distance and the Farmer's Market, then pick this hotel. Having stayed here many times during visits to my doctors in LA, this is a good deal. Yes the parking is free...

The pluses: Location is great. Hot water and water pressure in shower is great. The front desk was great (we had even left one of our bags outside our car and they found it and held it for us!). The minuses: just a general feeling of "could be cleaner" - bathroom was dusty, found hairs on sheets and toilet (assume...

This place is in a great location. Our room was massive with a full kitchen. It's great having free parking and Swingers diner right there. Good view of the Hollywood sign. Walking distance to the Grove, Farmers Market, Beverly Centre and the Tar Pits.

This hotel was old but was in a great location. We were close to everything hollywood has to offer. The hotel is older, but has come great character. The rooms are very outdated, and the beds are hard (although all 4 members of our group expresssed amazing sleeps!). We joked the carpets in the rooms needed to be shampooed, but...
