Lovely welcoming staff in the lobby and the restaurant. Extremely handy for Universal Studios and the touristy sites of Hollywood and the Hollywood sign. Nice big twin bedded room with good iszed bathroom. Apparently the hotel is being refurbished, which it does need as it is tired looking. There is a pool which looked good, although we didn't use it....

We stayed at the Sportsmans Lodge this summer for 5 days as we were visiting friends close by. The pictures on the website are very misleading as on arrival, I did not recognise the hotel from the pictures. Dark and drab rooms and corridor with very bad lighting, stained furniture, very poor visibility of the pool considering we had a...

I've lived closed by for over 20 years and stayed at the Sportsmens Lodge frequently for weekend getaways over the years. As many have stated, the hotel is undergoing a complete renovation (kind of sad although the rooms could use updating). Nothing of the old "Lodge" is being retained. But the worst part is the awful music blaring out by...

Ok the place is being renovated. Great if you're staying after October. Not so good now until then. Our room dated, awful 1970's carpets along the corridors. Shower had mildew all over the head. When arrived to our room, the patio door to outside was broken and wouldn't lock. Had to wait to have it fixed as no other rooms....

We stayed at the hotel for two nights while visiting friends in LA. The location is great, very convenient to many attractions. The complimentary shuttle to Universal studios was a nice benefit. The rooms are outdated, however they are in the process of renovating the hotel. The pool area was very, very nice! We booked our room through priceline and...

The Sportsman's Lodge is a rustic ( with a new modern look ) hotel in Studio City. It has a wonderful location close to West Hollywood, Hollywood, Universal Studios, and Beverly Hills. A wonderful large pool and whirlpool. Beds are comfortable. Service is very good. 2 problems - not very handicap friendly ( you can get around, but it is...

I stayed with two friends of mine at this hotel. We checked in July 25th and checked out morning of July 30th. Upon arriving at 12:30pm, we were told we have to wait to check in between 2pm and 3pm. The reason we were stayed here was for General Hospital Fan Club Weekend and got a rate of $155 per...

The hotel was basically under construction. Our room was very outdated and in need of an uplift. Other than that the hotel was clean, great pool and great location within walking distance to a few good eateries. Conduction did not bother the visit. A bit pricey but it is LA.

The hotel is undergoing an e tensile remodelling, which should put right a lot of its current problems. Our room was on the fourth floor, overlooking the car park at the rear of the hotel. It had a balcony, which we couldn't use because the fly screen was so rickety it wouldn't open and c,one properly. The bathroom was the...
