Okay, so hotels in LA are expensive. This is like a motel dressed up to be more like a small hotel. Pros: it's pretty reasonable for LA in a conveniently situated and mostly safe area and its more or less clean. Cons: It's backed right up against an extremely active and sometimes noisey freeway. If you're sensitive to vibration you...

We stayed here because of the close proximity to our son. The rooms are a little old and used but clean & neat. The staff is nice. The rooms were cleaned nicely each day. Nice to have a free hot breakfast. The drain was slow in the shower. The worst part is that both visits we were on the 1st...

Stayed here overnight. The hotel is small, 2 story high. As one of the reviews said, it feels like a motel more thatn a hotel. I'm used to opening the door and see a hallway. The room where we stayed, you open the door and see an openair pathway towards outside the lobby. We came in late at night with...

I stayed here for three nights. The staff treat their customers well. I used the restaurant only once and never took my breakfast because I did not like what they serve. The place can get noisy at times and can feel unsafe some times. The rooms are clean but I kept fearing that the guy upstairs would fall into my...

Once you leave the lobby, the feel is of a motel. My room opened directly into a parking lot. As a woman traveling alone, it gave me pause, although I learned the next day that the neighborhood is considered safe. Charlie at the front desk was very kind.

We stayed here because it was close to where my wife was having surgery the next morning. So we weren't overly concerned that the place is a bit run-down and that the photos shown are misleadingly tranquil. We just wanted to get a good night's rest. The rooms was small and whatever the opposite of "cozy" would be, and all...

Dear docdot, Thank you and we appreciate you for taking the time to write a review on your recent stay at the Mikado Hotel. Mostly all of the hotels are very expensive in Los Angeles, however we found Mikado and were very satisfied. The complementary breakfast is included in your stay. We have rented a car that's why did not have any problems. The hotel is located not far from Warner Brothers and Universal, so you can easily get there. The hotel has two...
