First of all the room that they gave to us was dirty and was not cleaned!! There was a coffee and a sandwich on the desk and a used toothbrush in the bathroom!!! Also the room had view...

The rooms are nice and the building is kept up. The lobby and old music room are beautiful with high ceilings and italian murals. The hotel was built with unlimited cost so the gold is real. Even the renovation was pretty much real. Rooms are nice. Location is great little french bakery around corner. Great coffee there and cooked breakfast....

The lobby and common areas of this hotel rival any 4-Seasons or Ritz Carlton, but the rooms are somewhat outdated even though adequately furnished. The price however is really attractive considering how beautiful the place is especially if you can book a room with a discount site. We had a wonderful breakfast with everything just right at the hotel. Did...

On arrival at this iconic property after a long 36 hour journey by train from Seattle I was stunned by the magnificence of the foyer and halls. I had not realized the history of this hotel from the 1930's and the splendor of its many facilities. I found the service excellent at the front desk, Concierge Martha and Nicole and...

Spent 4 nights here and had deliberately chosen this hotel due to its history and landmark status. It is an impressive building and the interior decoration is magnificent (particularly in the lobby and adjoining rooms). We were on the 9th floor, the room was spacious and had a view. Our intention was to explore the city and the hotel is...

Fantastic classical architecture. This hotel is iconic and used in so many movies it feels like a set. Gorgeous architectural details no wonder it was the home and former host of the academy award shows. It was nicely done for the holiday season. Very good downtown LA location and great amenities.

I've read other reviews about 'tired 'rooms however ours was quite nice. The bathrooms are a bit small, our doort scraped on the toiletr, but everything else was fine. We had a little view but found the rooms fairly quite enough-although I think the cleaning staff banged about a bit with their trolleys.we were on the 7th floor. We had...

Hotel with lots of history. Conference roomsand ballrooms have amazing ceilings. Rooms are small but nice. Took away one star because cashier put $100 hold on my debit card without informing me. $45 to park overnight. Near restaurants.

The reception rooms are as beautiful and elegant as expected. It was certainly a look of yesteryear. However, our room was decidedly tired and needed a good face-lift. The bathroom was tiny with really only room for 1 person. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Room service was excellent and the food was reasonably priced, hot and beautifully...

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
