If you want a posh hotel - pay more and go somewhere else. If you plan on spending your stay in LA without leaving your hotel - stay somewhere else. If you want value for money in a convenient location to use as a base for your stay in LA then the Mayfair is great. Some awesome spots near by....

Hotel is nice, located in tree blocks from downtown. Was not a big problem for us. Been there for New Years. Walked to Grand park to see countdown, not very far. The serve free fructose water, coffee and some snacks in the lobby. Hotel in clean. Have all the bathroom applies. Valley parking cost 30$. We played first night, but...

the lobby is a disaster as you walk in due to active construction, hence expect dust and noise everywhere. the bar and fitness center as a result are non-existent. having said this, the room itself is quite adequate, with a nice clean shower, comfy bed but no functional a/c or heater - so you rely on extra blankets if you...

Just refurbished the rooms are clean , quite roomy, but a little basic/minimalist. All staff were friendly and helpful. If you turn right out of hotel and walk for about 10 mins you end up at L|A live, which has great bars and restaurants on Figueroa street. You can also catch train to most LA hotspots, we went to Santa...

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The location is VERY good because it's near the Metro station, a Target, Macy's and other stores. The hotel was being renovated but they tried very good not to bother the guests. They do not offer breakfast but since the location is very good you have many options nearby. The rooms were confortable....

Convenient to downtown but you can find better. Stayed here because other people in my group were but gave it a second thought once I saw it. Interior check in is in the midst of a remodel. Rooms are comfortable, classy but small. Central AC for the whole property - you have NO in-room temp control - cool and noisy...

I checked in to the hotel hopeful after looking at the website. My 2 friends and I stayed here on our weekend trip to LA and lemme tell you the hotel was the worst part of our stay. Our 3 night stay had a price tag of a little over $600 so I expected nothing less than our money's worth. Our first room was super tiny. It had 1 bed and a...

The newly renovated rooms are a nice surprise after checking-in in the disconcerting temporary lobby. Staff is cordial and helpful.
